Cherry Grace

I sit, and sit, and sit, hoping that Shanks and Carex don't come crashing through the grass. If they do my only target will be Carex, if I die, I will drag him down with me. My hands start weaving a bowl out of the tall grass, I tried this on island six, but the grass was too short. After making the bowl I set it in the water to see if it will float. It does, but I notice a small hole in it. Wait, did I just put the bowl on water? "I found water!" Without even thinking I dip the bowl in the murky water. Putting it over my mouth I drink until their is no tomorrow. * Drinks Water* Although it's not the best tasting water, it quenches my thirst. Wait, I look down at the water and gasp. This water could easily been poisonous, if it is than I am doomed to die. My death would have came today anyways, a human can only last so long without water. Sitting up I wait, and wait, and wait, to see if the effects of poison take place.

Shanks never forgot. And he never gave up. When this girl was only a few hits from death, he had use the moment to his advantage and end her. Yes, it did have the potential to be considered despicable, but killing the girl was a must. Plus, who knew what kind of sponsors he’d get. So far, he’d only killed one person. Alba. Another kill could earn him some big bucks. Not to mention one step closer to victory.

So when Cherry fled the fight, he knew he wasn’t going to walk away after she wished him luck. Sure, she had given him a kiss, but no matter what happened, a touch of the lips did not change his motives in the Arena. He charged after her, silently slipping through the tall grass, muting his footsteps as he swiftly crawled after her. Carex had nodded and walked away before. Shanks wasn’t so sure he’d come back. Their alliance had been temporary and forced with the moment, but since the boy had not attacked him, he supposed both tributes were on good terms.

He watched her as she drank some water. Perhaps he could use the water she had collected and drink it for his own health after he finished her. It was a double win. One more death and some water. Perfect. Cherry was a bit cautious when moving around. He didn’t blame her. She was weak and he was strong. With his trident, overpowering her would be a task achieved with ease.

Shanks ran forward and leapt out of the grass and at Cherry, swinging with trident down.

I follow a trail of destruction in the grass, which could either be made by Cherry or Shanks. I hope for Cherry, as my knife is in hand. I can't wait to see Cherry's dead body laying on the ground. And I won't rest until I'm sure it's me who put her down.

I come across Cherry, and much to my pleasure, see Shanks put his trident trough her chest, though not through the heart. What a shame. I nod to Shanks once more, before turning to Cherry. "This is for Daniel, you heartless creature! Calling you a bitch would be an inult to bitches everywhere." I almost swing my knife at her, before remembering Zanne's weapon I currently wear on my back. I take an arrow, load it into the bow, pull the string, and let go.

(OOC: Cherry is dead right? She had 15.5 damage points entering the battle, Carex and Shanks just did around 16 damage points, and plus the 11.5 damage points Cherry had at the start of the day.... (10 from lack of water, 1.5 from fights)........... Since she did do first aid on the tribute maintenance thread I subtracted 2 points from her score.... But that still means Cherry is dead... right?)

Cherry Grace

Through the course of the Hunger Games I have been, stabbed, cut, bruised, but never have I been seriously injured. I am sure that I am about to die, so hopefully I will go out with a bang. My mentor is stupid, they can afford a first aid kit, but they won't buy it for me. Maybe if I survive this fight they will, but the odds are not in my favor. Carex has been my worst enemy, but now it doesn't matter. I can't blame his anger against me, I did kill his only Allie. Me and Carex are even, but Shanks on the other hand is a blood-thirsty career. Who-ever attacks me will die. On day one Zanne attacked me in the bloodbath, now she is dead. Daniel also aimed an attack at me, now he is dead. By attacking me Carex and Shanks have ruined their chances of winning these games. They will die, not by my hands, but by someone else's. Blood is covering the ground, but I don't care. I knew this was coming. By volunteering I had choose my fate, which is death. The only reason I did volunteer is so I would be remembered, Cherry Grace, the hopeless fighter from district five, the Prevailer.
This is all Shanks fault, he is the reason I am dying! With little hope I throw the cleaver at his heart.

Shanks squinted his eyes as Cherry aimed her arrow at his heart. She let it fire and time slowed down. The arrow head swiftly zoomed towards his chest...and missed. He looked down and pursed his lips at the failed attempt at his murder. His eyes went up to meet Cherry’s.

He opened his mouth to say something, but instead said nothing. Her death needed no words. No thoughts. Only one quick throwing of his trident and she was gone. One down. 8 to go. 4 others who he had grown to like. 4 others, who in due time, might face him in death. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.

Cherry Grace

The tears are coming down my face, but I will die with Grace.

As my body lies in mud, it gets covered in my blood.

When the winds peak, I start to get weak.

Sooner of later I will pass, laying here in blood-stained grass.

The memory of me volunteering for this comes to mind, boy oh boy was I kind.

I need to think of other memories, me cuddled up with my mother is the one I receive.

I will visit my mother soon, but not in the place that will meet my doom.

Up above, in heaven, we will meet, and their will be tons of love once we greet.

But before I can do that, my eyes will have to shut.

I pull Carex down so he can hear, the words that I whisper in his ear.

"I am Cherry Grace, and I am unstoppable.''

He watched her die in silence. Shanks put his hands at his sides and looked down at the bleeding girl. His trident had struck her down, making messy contact with her cheek. He didn’t look back at Carex. Nor did he taunt or smile. Yet he felt no remorse. It wasn’t his style. If he were to win, he had to focus his mind on victory, not waste time loathing or celebrating after every kill you make. Sure, he was very much a party guy, but right now, winning was way too close to be running around with too many smiles.

After Cherry had past on and the cannon had boomed through the Arena, Shanks looked away from her floating body as the hovercraft came to collect her, and onward to the more important basket of floating in the water. Was it poisonous? They could always boil it But he didn’t have any knowledge pertaining to fire making. He had to get a move on. He filled up the basket and took a gulp, hoping that his sponsors were generous enough to buy a medical kit just in case it was poisonous.

He had seen the girl drink some before he attacked her and the water had no apparent effect on her during the fight, so dismissing any thoughts of death, Shanks swallowed more and more of the water. It felt good, to quench his thirst. And he drank. More and more and more.
