As always my steps were gentle, yet quickening, in pursuit of following my alliance. As a single unite we’re stronger, that much is evident. But our previous fight was a rude awakening to the reality we’re now consumed by. This is not a test we could all potentially pass, there’s only one successful grade available. And eventually we’ll have to do more then silently acknowledge this fact. Soon enough we’ll be brutally faced with this, whether we’re prepared and approve or not.

“Septys…” I remember quietly calling out for him in particular. Together we were sent from our shared District into this mess of a Game. Without say he warmed himself into my heart, and erased the chance of no feelings being attached to our team. If one of us is destined to reach ultimate demise, if our souls must both break when that happens, we at least deserved one more moment together. So I’m not surprised to discover myself awakening next to him, while the other two are no where to be seen. It’s everything else that I seem to find an empty answer to.

Lights are all that sparkles in my memory. We’ve managed to pass out without keeping watch, and have must been away from our alliance for far too long. Anything could of happened since I remember last, yet no anxiety shakes me. “Septys,” my voice is calming as I try to greet him into the cruel reality of the Arena. My lips even softly brush against his’ in hopes he won’t be startled awake from expectations of a threat. For this second, peacefulness actually flutters the atmosphere.

“We should probably go find the others…” I suggest without a budge to actually get up. This will probably be our last time alone before…my head shakes with refusal to concentrate on the future. For now, this is all that matters. “Or we can take a break from being Careers, and pretend like we can stay in bed all day. I’m positive we’ll be able to hear and slaughter anyone before they even get close to us.” Reassurance floods my lips with such confidence. There’s no describing my desperation to cling onto this feeling while I still can.

The sound of a parachute flutters down to our hard rooted bedding, gifting us with an unknown substance that might distract us for only a second. “Looks like the Capitol wants us to relax today as well.” I softly joke while revealing our surprise. It takes me a moment to dissect what we’ve been given. “Yep, they definitely don’t want us traveling.” A genuine smirk graces my lips for the first time in a while, and I place an Iodine tablet in one of Septy’s filled teakettle, followed by one in my own. “So now that we have that threat out of the way…” A wink joins my smirk, with satisfaction for the temporary moment we’ve been granted.

Her lips are the first, and last things he remembers, soft, but clinging, all enveloping, and he can recall a desperate need, vice-grip hands clutching around his heart. Love by firefly light, or something romantic like that. Either way, his hips ache, and his fingers long to run through her hair again, until the sweet caress of her lips rouses him from sleep.

A quiet gasp escapes the male as his dark eyes flitter open, a hand lifting to stroke against her bangs. "Oh, good morning, sunshine." he whispers, grin splitting his lips wide. careful fingers masage her temple, just beside where an ear used to be. A frown graces his face, and he sighs unhappily. "Yeah, we should, but I'm more worried about you right now. Does it still hurt? It looks red."

He holds her body fast, pulling her warmth against himself. "I like the break idea. That sounds nice. The others are big boys, they can take care of themselves- maybe. Let's just go with our original plan and head back to the beach. I think once they realize we're not with them, they'll stay put. We should just have a rest day."

Again, his fingers claim her, dragging the female close. "Maybe they're rewarding us for something. Hrmn. I wonder what that could be..." A sly smirk drags his lips upwards as he sits, stretching the sleep from each limb until they pop and crackle with each inhale.

The small, misty jellyfishdragonthing flutters around their entwined hands, gently nuzzling the couple together. A laugh cracks his chest, and he slowly stands, the beeps resonating against his chest.

"...I got one yesterday. While I was on my own? My brothers sent a note." he says quietly, gaze looming off into the distance, listening as she digs around for their temporary reprieve, ""Oh? Why would you say that?" his stare drifts down into the crevices of the silver egg, gazing down at three purple pills.

He didn't realize just how thirsty he is until he stares down at them.

"Oh. That's... That's probably a good idea, huh?"

Pain? That doesn’t exist just yet. Of course it probably should after all that’s occurred, but for some reason it lacks at this moment. Only calmness and comfort overwhelms me within Septys’s embrace. “I’m good.” I reassure with an uncanny grin. Have we unknowingly died? Because if this is the result, I’m not quite sure what the big fret is over. To solely be surrounded by the one I’ve come to love, is far more valuable then any victory.

Nonetheless, it’s impossible to budge from this rare situation. Certainly the boys will be content without us for a couple of hours, as Septys pointed out. If the majority of us are going to succumb to death, why avoid a little risk? Plus escaping from this warmth is an option I’d rather not even have. If this is it I’m going to absorb every second; the way he holds me as though we were one, the way his energy radiates around us, the way I’ve never experienced these sensations before. Perhaps this is our afterlife.

The sight of sponsorship is a clear indication that we’re still present in the Arena though. Yet for some reason I don’t instantly regret this conclusion. We still hold a fighting chance. One of us could still make it out… And all that truly matters right now is right now. Septys breaches from our uncomfortable makeshift bed to sit upright, and instantly I’m blanketing half of his back to stay connected to his warmth.

The side of my head leans on his shoulder blade as I inspect the Iodine tablets, and how they sizzle in our teakettles. “We have purified water now.” I mention with a sigh of relief. There’s no explaining the gratitude that we’ve made it this far, even if so many others have as well.

“What did your Brothers say?” I curiously question, without surprise that Septys has made it this far given how spectacular he truly is.

As I wait for an answer, I search the nearby plants within reaching distances. Like we’ve agreed, this is a day in our pretend bed…for at least a couple of hours…or as long as we’re granted. But why not patch each other up in the mean time? That might not require any traveling at all. And sure enough it doesn’t, as I gather just the necessities that we could need.

“Let me see those missing fingers of yours…” A soft laugh leaves my lips from the irony of that statement. Either way I grab his hand that holds two stubs, and begin a cleaning he’s destined to need. There might be no preventing a deadly fight, but he sure as hell won’t be dying from an infection. “Might sting, I only remember which plants are definitely medicinal.” I warn in a joking manner, though I do gently apply it to his wounds. “We’ll leave in a little.” I assure to the need of returning to our team. For the rest of our time, we’ll leave it at that.
