Just Red. A girl who was raised in the poverty of the Seam, a twin who’s very much inseparable from her other half, no one out of the ordinary…or at least that’s how the upraising began. Our insides constantly pleaded for more nourishment throughout our young lives, just as most citizens felt in District Twelve. But our fates were eventually privileged with an alternative. The innocent age of fifteen became our mile marker to a better life. We were always desperate to fulfill our hunger, literally, and the opportunity arrived when we finally could. A boy not too older then my sister & I, presented us with this very solution. We were naïve to the tasks this alternative required, but we eventually accepted the night as it had with us. Attractive twins were evidently rare commodity, and we flourished under these standards. Only disposable Soldiers struggle in the light of the days, while the reflection of the moon subtly offers what we crave to grasp.
