Then her eyes fall on Jeq and Saxton and she feels her blood begin to boil. The ocean within her becomes hot and scalding, volcanic almost as steam shoots into the sky with pyroclastic fall falling around her, everything catching fire on contact. Her eyes narrows and she somehow- with one foot- makes a beeline for Saxton Hale. She is closer than Jeq- she is closer and then she swings her weapon at Rodrick. NO! Daria snarls as she sees the weapon come into contact with Rodrick. Blood and burning flesh, and Daria Staite is blinded by the hot burning fury, the volcanic eruption which boils her oceans and cracks through her skin, as she lunges for Saxton Hale. Everyone seems to have jumped in and swung their axes, swords, before I have moved. The weight of the double handed blade slows me down. I watch in horror as an axe comes hauntingly close to Saxton, my head rushing with an adrenaline I had not known I had in my at the sight of it.

It seemed like the only logical choice to attack the girl with the flaming weapon. If she can’t attack, then the fire can’t attack. But I could feel the heat of the flame that was so dangerous and yet so illuminating. She is a threat. We have to get rid of her before her flames lick us. My mind didn’t understand what everyone else was doing, focused only on extinguishing the flames. My blade collided with the skin of her head, creating a long line of red, but I didn’t have the time to respond, to care.

I am pleased to see that I am not the only one unleashing their blades on Saxton Hale. A few other tributes do, but none of them I can recall the names of. The fighting seems so similar to the bloodbath, and I imagine right away Heather’s district partner, Draco, laying on the ground after we won the bloodbath. This is not a game anymore, it is the matter of life and death. I feel the violent swings fly through the air, some towards me, and others, specifically Saxton’s and Jequirity’s, come towards me. I immediately flinch.

”You wanna do this whole thing again? Really? Fine, let’s fuckin’ play the last few days over again!” I swing my axe once more. If Jequirity can recall, none of the past few days have been wins for her.

I keep an eye on Septys, and let my gaze shift back to the girl we're hitting. I don't know what her thoughts must be right now, but I know that my heart pounds, and I need to do this to protect my boys. I don't see Taurus, and that worries me, but I swear I didn't hear a cannon yesterday, and I still don't here one but maybe the makers are going to wait until after the feast to announce the bloodshed? I don't know. All I do know is that darkness is swirling all around the arena and I have to do everything in my will power to protect the ones I care the most for. And if that involves stealing this girl away from the land of the living then so be it. However even now as I move in closer I feel sorrow for her, she might be a good person, but either way in here she is an enemy.

So once again I lift my weapon to strike yet again.

I try not to scream, try not to let everyone see just how fragile I was when it came to Saxton. They didn't need to know that, they didn't need to see. My cape pulls tight around my throat. I screech---a battle cry so strong and powerful that I nearly fall over. My sword is heavy in my hands, but not as heavy as my slowly sinking heart.

I set my jaw and struggle to regain balance. The world shifts beneath my feet and when I look up all I see are lines of dark figures staring back at me. No names, no faces. They are simple entities I need to kill in order to get out of here with my life.

I can't believe I just hurt a person, but seeing Chloe go after her helps me a lot. I watch as everyone else gangs up on this person, and it makes me feel terrible, but what can I do? How can I stop them? People have to die. I can feel my heart breaking as it drops into the pits of my stomach forever. I want to throw up seeing the blood dripping from the girl's body. But I have to make sure they don't hurt her. She's the only person I care about right now. But the others are going to die. I have to die eventually, but this isn't my time. Saxton realized that her body was being mutilated in every way possibly, it was as if her body had been pulled by millions of little insects, all wanting her to fall. She pulls her body back from the floor, shaking in a vigorous fear of what is to come, this was the bloodbath all over again, except she wasn't getting out, this was the end of Saxton Hale, how could she provide any sort of life, foe Jeq, when she was losing her own. The demaons had a firm grasp on me, and there was no going back, goodbye to a world of hate but i brought up a quick set of knives, I would continue until the last drop of blood left my body.

The knife fails to make contact. Daria’s aim is off and it skims past the girl through the air, stabbing at nothing. Daria has no chance to frown or react, when Saxton Hales knife- fire and burning- slices through her arm. She screams, stumbling back and falling back into the cold sand as her arm begins to burn. A lightning strike, a drop of hot ash, whatever it is this pain is real and it sears through her as the smell of burning flesh rises on the air. The rage stills overpowers her, driving Daria back onto her knees. She is prepared to attack again but the others- the others aside from Jeq are all pounding into Saxton, drawing red dark blood until she falls. Tumbling, the knife slipping from her grip and landing softly in the sand, its fire still burning, casting a shadow on Saxton Hales face. Daria can feel the canon shake the arena as she dies. Daria hoped she would feel satisfaction watching the girl who’d hurt Rodrick die. Except all she feels is an empty void. Until she sees Jeq that is and remembers that she hurt him too, she helped with so many things. It was the first time I didn’t flinch when I saw someone drop in front of me. The mutt that I had the honor of dancing with fell. The girl that Kitty had pounced on fell. And the girl with the flaming knife fell. But this time, my eyes watched her fall to the ground, watched as those flames became extinguished. I did not feel sorry for her.

And now the other girl was attacking the boy. The other girl Leo’s ally became furious and words started flying as I watched pain distress fury. Would I not have felt the same emotions if I had watched Harbinger Kitty Beretta fall in front of me? My heart ached for her as the beads of sweat started forming again. Harbnger. Please be alive. My eyes kept looking around the chaos until I saw him, the gentle giant, swinging his weapon. Let’s just go, Harbinger. Please.

Blood was filling the landscape faster than my eyes could have predicted. Already in the line of defense for the love I felt fo Spetys the life of the girl from five had been taken, not to mention her comrade now faced the same fate. Back home I would fight relentlessly but now I felt guilt churning in the cauldron of my stomach. I didn't know either of these girls yet here I was silencing their lives with the assistance of my axe.  Their lives were now of no importance to me by the way I gashed open their bodies to leave them bleeding. I only hoped that if I were to immerse from this arena as its sole survivor that in hind sight I would find a way to forgive my actions. But for now my duty as a career held precedent over the seizing storm. So as I lifted my axe I tried to let the darkness that I had forged return, and then I let the axe return back to the land of blood and gore.
