Personality:
Kiara is small. With only 5 ft 4’ most of her friends and the people she calls her family dwarf her in size. When standing next to Kovu, she only reaches up to his shoulder and always has to tilt her head to be able to look into his eyes. She is slender but not skinny. Toned muscles show underneath her light tan skin. These muscles don’t make her strong in terms of brutal force but she is very good at long distance runs. Kiara would be very good at cross-country runs but she would be completely lost when trying to lift weights or martial arts. Kiara is happy with the way her body looks and for sure a lot of girls her age would be jealous and envy her for her body. But as almost everybody, Kiara has something to complain about her body: She absolutely hates her knobby knees. She hates them so much that she would never wear a short skirt.
Kiara has golden blonde hair that shimmers in the sun and sets a nice contrast to her tan skin. It flows in nice, wavy curls down to the middle of her back. Mostly she wears it in a ponytail because that’s just easy to do. On special occasions, like the reaping for example, she wears it down, letting her curly flow lightly over her shoulders.
What she likes most about herself is her dark brown, almond shaped eyes. They seem to glow whenever she is excited about something or they sparkle mischievously when she’s up to something. A slightly too big nose sits in the middle of her face. Her friends tease her about it, telling her that the nose is this big because she always has to stick her nose in things that are absolutely not her business. Her lips are full but very pale, so they don’t exactly stand out when looking at her face. She wears lipstick whenever she can get her hands on one. A small scar shows on her left cheek. She got it when she was still a young girl and played with a cat. The cat’s owners warned her that the cat wasn’t friendly at all, but Kiara, as always, didn’t want to listen and had to pay the price.
History:
Kiara is disobedient in every possible way. She does things not because she is curious or wants to do them but just because she is told not to do them. Some people would say (and Kiara is sure Vitani would be one of them) that the only reason for her relationship with Kovu is, that the Pride wants her to not have a relationship with him and wants her to stay far away from him. But this is probably the only thing she does for herself and just and only because that’s what her heart tells her. The overprotectiveness of her friends annoys her. She thinks she knows what’s best for her and wants to make her own decisions. Kiara wants to be self-sufficient but the others know that she tends to make the wrong decisions and just want to help her but Kiara thinks that they want to patronize her. Kiara is strong headed and very rash in her actions. She can be very rude, offending people with the things she says while speaking her head. She doesn’t ever think about the consequences her actions could have, even though she is sorry most of the times afterwards when she has had the time to think about what she had done.
Kiara is passionate. She loves Kovu with all her heart and she would leave the rest of the Pride, risking loosing all of her friends, just to be with him. Before she met Kovu, she was a big flirt. She used to be all big smiles when she met somebody knew, trying to please him in every possible way but this changed drastically when she met Kovu. Before she met him, she was looking at all the guys around her, now she only has eyes for Kovu. Most of the time, that is. She still looks at the good-looking guys walking through District Nine, but it stays at this. Just looking, nothing more.
Kiara can be very determined when doing things and once she has made up her mind it is very hard to convince her of something else. Kiara is very talkative. Once she get’s going it is very hard to shut her up. She sometimes annoys the Pride with all of her chitter chatter and the only one who doesn’t seem to be annoyed by her constant babbling is Kovu. Maybe because he is in love with her or maybe because she is somewhat different when being with him.
In school, Kiara isn’t top of the class. Actually, she is more like the worst student in her class. She is not smart but she wouldn’t be this bad in school if she would just try a little bit more. But most of the times, she has better things to do than homework and other things on her mind than the stuff she learns in school. For her, school is just a waste of time. Well, classes are. She likes the breaks because then she can meet up with friends and catch up on the latest gossip. And, at least until she met Kovu, school was the one place where she was hunting for guys, flirting with them whenever possible.

Kiara was born into one of the wealthier families of District nine. Her father was one of the bosses of a soap factory. Of course he didn’t own the place and wasn’t allowed to make his own decisions regarding the company, but he was allowed to carry out the Capitol’s orders. He was supposed to carry out all of the Capitol’s orders no matter if they meant good news for the people of District Nine or if they meant bad, really bad news for the people. Of course this didn’t make him the number one most favorite person in District Nine. Actually, there were a lot of people in District Nine who hated Kiaras father with a passion. Kiaras mom was… well she was her fathers wife. She never worked and played perfect wife and perfect mother at home. She never was the perfect mother though. In fact, neither her mother nor her father were perfect parents. To them, Kiara was just a status symbol. A small doll, that could be dressed up and presented, because a perfect marriage, a perfect family had to have a perfect daughter. Too bad that Kiara was far from being perfect. She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but she was far from being good in school and far from being called smart or intellectual. And Kiara had the worst manners anybody could imagine. She couldn’t sit still on a table and never kept her mouth shut. Over all, for her parents, she was a complete disappointment and over the years, they rather left her in her room during their parties instead of trying to show her off.
Kiara doesn’t really love her parents either. She had always hated being dressed up by her mom and dragged to all these boring parties. She hated to be showed off. When she was 14, she left her parents house after she met Kovu and the group that called herself Simba’s Pride. She didn’t really run away, she just decides to live with the Pride instead of staying in her parent’s house. She comes home from time to time to grab some food for her friends or clothes or her most favorite lipstick. Her parents don’t really care. Ever since they found out that Kiara wasn’t the perfect daughter they always wanted, they somehow lost their interest in their daughter. They don’t care where Kiara spends her time as long as she attends school on a regular basis so they don’t get in trouble with the officials.
Kiara came to the Pride when Kovu was still part of it. Actually, he invited her to come and after a few visits, Kiara decided to stay with them. It was a big change in her life. Back at home she had everything: Enough food, a warm and cozy bed, nice clothes. With the Pride she went to bed hungry often and froze underneath a thin blanket but she didn’t care: For the first time in her life she had people that actually liked her even though she was… difficult sometimes. She was getting on the others nerves with her constant chitter chatter and her high pitched voice but somehow all these people still accepted her as one of them. She stayed with them even though Kovu had to leave the Pride because she didn’t want to loose the first people in her life she could actually call friends. She still met Kovu. In secret of course, because the others wouldn’t approve of her meeting with the one that betrayed the Pride. Actually, Kiara doesn’t know what they would do if they found out. Would they just give her a tongue-lashing or would they tell her to leave?
