Kathrin Herriot, District 9

Kathrin has long, straight brown hair, and green eyes. She is just 5' 7'' and 123 lbs. Her hair is usually tied into a ponytail. Kathrin wears a simple black shirt, grey pants, and boots. Her clothing is reletively neat because her family is considered rich in District 9. Her hands are rough from work she did as a child when her family wasn't as successful. Freckles litter her pale, skinny cheeks.

Kathrin hates being fancy because she finds it mocking of her previous lifestyle. Her face is obviously fuller and fatter than it was when she looked practically wild, but still shows signs of a thief-like life. Because of the labor she used to do, her muscles are quite strong. Kathrin loves running and is very fast. She is very agile and can dart through obstacles easily. Her movements are quick and stealthy.

Kathrin is a bold and daring girl who isn't afraid of anything. She is very brave and couragous and will sacrafice herself to save someone she cares about. At school, she is always the troublemaker. Kathrin loves practical jokes, but has a weak sense of humor. Teachers hate Kathrin because of her troublemaker past, and the fact that she is not very smart.

She is not very outgoing nor social, and prefers to act out on her own. She is bent on independence, always wanting to get something without any help. Kathrin rarely accepts help, and only does when she absolutly needs it. People call Kathrin an "antisocial freak". Nobody wants to be her friend because of her thief history.

Kathrin only trusts her family. During her poorer days, her mother strictly enforced her to never trust anyone besides her own family. This habit was never unlearned when life began to soften, along with many other habits. Even though she is reletively rich now, Kathrin still has low expections for life.

Kathrin's family was very poor when she was a child, which forced her to steal from others to survive. This behavior influenced her, causing her to believe that trickery and thievery was the answer. She stole for her family consisting of her, her parents, and her younger brother alone, which is why she never wants help. This work developed a nature in which she was ready to risk everything for the sake of her family.

Kathrin has always hated school because of the learning. It was useless to her, because her main purpose in life at the time was to survive and keep her family alive. Kathrin had no friends because they all were afraid of her, but she didn't want any friends. No one tried to mess with her because they thought that she was like one of those extremely skilled blind thieves from books.

When Kathrin was 13, her father found a well paying job. Very soon, Kathrin no longer had to steal for food. Her family slowly became richer and now have enough to fill their bellies and all of their needs, along with many wants, too. As Kathrin's family gradually restored itself, her looks changed, but her attitude didn't. She later took up some sports and arts as she found no other way to entertain herself in the time she used to be scouring.
