Hunting Harper District 1 FINISHED

Well sure if you want to call me strange that's okay, but you don't know all that much about me so you would be a poor sport if you decided that without knowing me. So how about I tell you a little about myself, that way you can have a reason to believe I'm strange, because naturally you will think I'm strange. Okay so where to start...how about with how I started...born into this world in the middle of winter, not expected to survive beyond a couple of days. I proved I was more resilient than the doctors would believe, according to my parents that was when they decided I would make a brilliant Career. Hell, I'm not going to lie to you and say that I'm not a good Career, I'm more than capable of holding my own in a fight despite the fact I'm not the most muscular, or the tallest guy around. It's because unlike most of the Careers around here I like to analyze situations and come up with an intelligent approach to things.

Like I can look at a guy or girl and just by looking at their stance or the way they hold a weapon I can pick up weaknesses in them and exploit them. It's all about measurements with me, and although I like to fight like most Careers I like to have a good book infront of me, or some complicated mathematical equations. I like to learn and to me knowledge is key, there is nothing that you can't learn by reading a book. It's what's helped me get this far in life, and in all honesty I firmly believe that the pen is mightier than the sword, because with just a few written words we can change how things work or even the publics opinion. Of course that's a secret love of mine, reading books I mean, to all the other Careers I'm just a patient fighter that doesn't get flustered by very much. I fight on my terms and only my terms, it's not like people can provoke me into doing anything I don't want to. I suppose you could say that I come off as cold and harsh, but I'm very picky with who I choose as my friends. When you are my friend though, well I'll love you till the day I die.

I only have a few friends as a result and most of them are girls, but that's only because I can talk to them about all of the guys in the training facility. Yes, you heard me right, I like to talk to the girls about the guys in the training facility. We trade observations and rumors we hear about them, and we explain why we're crushing on them to eachother. It's a great deal of fun that inevitably amounts to nothing for me because that's all it is...a game. It's not like I ever make good on anything that I tell the girls about, infact aside from those girls that I call friends no one else even knows that I do that...or even like the guys I train with. I mean come on, what would the other Careers think if I they found out, my reputation would go down the drain. Nope, not thanks, I still have SOME pride in what people think of me, so I prefer to stay in the good graces of my fellow trainees. For now I'll stick to admiring from afar or being subtle about flirting with them.

Then we have my home life, my parents love me dearly, even if they don't approve of EVERYTHING I do. I make them proud by being every bit the fighter that they had hoped I would be, one of the elite in my class from what my teachers tell them. They disapprove of my methods though, and my hobbies that I do in my spare time. I guess reading has never been one of the HUGE points of interest for the people of District 1. This isn't to say that people don't read here, but the amount that I read is uncommon. My room is covered in books, every kind of book I can get my hands on, from fairy tale stories to academic books that sharpen my mind. I think at first my parents thought it would pass, that it was just a little something that I would get over. It got worse though, I wanted more, I wanted to learn more, I felt like knowledge was a better weapon then a sword because when it comes down to it it's very simple to outsmart someone.

There was this one time though that my parents got angry at me, and it wasn't for anything terrible. I just didn't come home one night, I...well I got lost trying to...follow around this guy that I liked. I don't know, something made me follow him, he just seemed...I don't know...different. I didn't even get his name from him, I was to afraid to approach him, afraid that he would run away from me. Infact the details are so vague I can barely remember what he looked like now, I'd probably never remember what he looked like if I saw him again. My parents raged over that though, said I was stupid to follow a boy around, or anyone for that matter, I was their precious little gem and they couldn't bare to lose me. I couldn't help but let my mind linger on him though, how different he had seemed when I looked at him that day. Even though I did what my parents asked, and never followed anyone again I couldn't help but hope that one day I'd see him again...even if I wouldn't really remember who he was.

So yeah, I went on with my life normally after that, the occasional thought straying to that mystery boy I had followed. I was unworthy of his attention though, who would want to go out with me, I mean I'm not ugly, but I'm definitely not what you would call attractive, at least not by my standards. My black hair is generally cut short, but occasionally I will let it grow out and have a wave to it. My black eyes, yes black eyes, are usually devoid of any emotion. It's hard to say exactly why I have black eyes, maybe a birth defect or something. It doesn't affect my vision or anything, it's just a little unsettling when people find me looking at them with my "blackhole" eyes. They keep eye contact for a little while but I know what they're thinking. That I'm some sort of freak with those eyes that see all and yet betray nothing. Thank goodness not everyone thinks that way though otherwise I'd be a pretty lonely person otherwise. So yeah, that's me in a nutshell, not much I know, and pretty strange right, who the hell would even want to be me. Whatever though, I mean there is no changing who I am, not for anyone or for any reason. Peace out suckers.
