Age:
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
Caine has all the looks of the classic brainiac. He has the prominent cheek bones, that seem to jut out of his pale skin. He also has the prominent forehead and the chiseled jaw that looks like it came from stone. His eyes are the thing that most people remember though. They're a deep, dark blue that have just the right twinkle to tell you that he has so much knowledge behind them that it threatens to erupt out of them. He keeps his hair very short and straight, this doesn't help him look any younger though, for he has such pale skin that it looks old.Personality:
Also, Caine's body isn't anything to marvel at. He's scrawny from malnourishment, mostly because he neglects to eat when he's studying. Which is almost always. He has some muscles, but you can't expect him to lift much more than seventy pounds and he can run, just not fast. Caine is also somewhat tall, standing around 5'11. Caine does have somewhat of an oversized head, too. Not to mention that he sometimes wears glasses. This is because he has bad far ranged eye sight from reading so much.
Caine's personality is quite a simple one. He's pretty reserved, but at the same time, social enough to make friends. He doesn't like talking about himself much, even though he has a perfectly nice family. He feels that the more secrets he has the more power he has over others. Though he doesn't really have any power in the first place, he likes to use this as a precautionary measure. He does like talking about other things though, such as engineering, mathematics, machinery, and other things involving thought and brainstorming. He's extremely into discussing the pros and cons of every invention and plotting how make them even better.History:
Caine also loves studying, as stated before, and he can't get enough of it. He will read and write and read some more until one of his parents comes in and forces him to stop. Another thing Caine loves is to make small replicas of trains and hovercrafts that he hopes to build someday in real size. His dream is to become a revered Engineer in the district, and he's proud of it. He's also a very curious person, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Usually though, it helps him to solve tricky problems or get information to get some power over others.
Along with that, Caine is a bit power craving. This is probably because everyone else in the district, or at least his grade, doesn't think he's much of anything. All Caine is good for is sneaking answers off of test papers during class. He wants everyone to know that he can do anything they can, but he doesn't know how because he doesn't like to cause fights. This comes from his instinct to cower instead of flee or fight back. He will dive for any chance to become well liked though, leading him to get into some very embarrassing situations.
Caine's family is a nice small family. He has a mother and a father and himself. His mother, Andrea, is a pharmacist who helps to discover and make the drugs that all of Panem uses to heal from illnesses. She is strict, but she also has a good sense of when her son needs time alone or comforting. So she tries to be there for him when he needs it, although she is away at work most of the time.Codeword: oDair
Caine's father, Marcus, on the other hand is home a lot of the time. Though he is somewhat of a morphling addict, he tries his hardest not to do it within the home. But being a mechanic, not a very good one at that, is something that drives out the shame in a person. And when people have shame they want to hide it, which leads to this sort of thing. Especially when morphling is readily available. Though Marcus has gotten in some trouble with the Peacekeepers, he is normally home with his son, who he likes to spend time with and talk to.
The Galen's are a well off family. They aren't rich, but they're on the upper middle class scale. This is mostly from Caine's mother, since she was able to get such a great job from doing so well in school. Caine gets his personality from his mother and his looks from his father. One time, Caine's father did get a large bonus because his team was able to make a newer, better version of the bullet trains that the Capitol uses. So that gave the family a good run.
When Caine was a child, he would often play with the other kids in his neighborhood. But as Caine grew older and became more and more absorbed in studying and constructing, he became more and more detached from his friends. Caine doesn't have too many nostalgic childhood memories, but he does have one when his family was celebrating his birthday. He opened up his present and he received his first hover craft modeling kit. He was so happy and he still uses that computer to this day.
