What a babe you are. Nose bops and bear hugs and cartwheels, acting like you don't have a care in the world. A ball of sunshine full of big words like pho-no-pho-bi-a and h e t e r o c h r o m i a. Trying to sound all smart but you're not really fooling anyone when you're chasing the soap bubbles in the backyard, popping them with a sudden vendetta and they never even stood a chance.

All bark and no bite, you sure do talk a big game. Running circles around everyone, five feet of pure energy and nothing's ever gonna slow you down. Happy laughs and bubblegum pops, rushing out the screen door so fast that you tear right through it.

Playing games with the older boys, copper hair pulled back tight, aerodynamic, because you're always in it to win it. One of them tugs at your ponytail and it brings out the crocodile tears, the performance of the year really. And when mushed up caterpillars end up in his bed later that night, you're already sprawled out in bed, starfish limbs and cute little snores, so no one can prove you guilty.

Everyone's story has a beginning and yours may not be the happiest but look where you are now. You don't remember most of the past anyways, living in the moment is much more important. Rags to riches, abandoned to spoiled, just waiting to be adopted and even in an orphanage you've got it made.
