OFFICIAL INDUSTRY UPDATE

DISTRICT ONE: Entertainment
As of now, District One is considered the Capitol's most darling district, both for its continued open support and for its outstanding Hunger Games performance. There has been at least one victor from this district in every decade of games that has been written on the site- retro included. As reward, the most reliable of the 3 career districts receives an update of industry that any would want. One will birth Panem's next generation of bards- travelling theater troupes, touring bands, reality shows that'll rival Saturn City's. Career academies will also receive funding for new or updated facilities.


DISTRICT TWO: Waste Management
Though still a career district, Two's continuous games misfortune has landed them in particularly unimpressed territory with the Capitol. With only two victors in the last 30 years, they are comparatively underperforming. As a total coincidence, their industry update makes great use of the highly industrialized district's facilities. Recycling plants fill the interior of the once great fortress of peacekeepers, empty mines have been converted into landfills. The wealthy elite are largely unaffected by this, as they at least have their acquired wealth to rest on for the time being. But there will become much more of a class division in Two as a result- a lucky few getting high-dollar private career training while most everyone else is given public lessons.


DISTRICT THREE: Electronics and Transportation
As a natural expansion, District Three will be broadening its horizons and shifting to a particular focus on transportation as well. This is due to a rapidly modernizing society, and was deemed necessary to fit the needs of citizens all across Panem, but particularly the Capitol.


DISTRICT FOUR: Fishing
As one of Panem's three chief food providers, District Four's industry continues to flourish as-is, and is in fact better than ever, statistically speaking. Their recent good games showings is only the beginning of the fortune finding its way to District Four. The reputation of it being the least favorable of the careers is long-gone, as it also receives a hefty sum of funding for its career academies and training facilities.


DISTRICT FIVE: Energy and Chemical Refinement
Another broadening-of-horizons has Five moving beyond oil and venturing into several other power sources. Particularly hydro, solar, and wind. Oil rigs will also remain. As well, for lower-ranking jobs, Five will also be absorbing District Nine's previous industry of Chemical Refinement. Several refineries will begin popping up alongside the new energy plants in the months to come.


DISTRICT SIX: Medicine
Perhaps now more than ever, District Six's industry is of dire importance in the face of Rose Plague ravaging all of Panem. Repairs in Six have been, of course, slow-going due to its checkered recent history with the Capitol and it being ground zero for the outbreak. Despite this, no large amounts of funding has been issued for repairs, and demand for meds is at an all-time high. The people of Six are being over-worked so that they have less time to plan rebellions. Once they're tired enough and the Capitol is sure they've quelled any uprising potential, more aid will be given.


DISTRICT SEVEN: Lumber and Paper Mills
Seven's exports remain necessary. As well, they find themselves to be in unusual Capitol favor for a district so low, potentially due to repeated good showings in the games as of late. A slight increase in work wages has been granted to all working citizens of District Seven, and their food rations have also received a slight increase. Their industries however, will remain the same, as they're providing many of the building materials necessary to facilitate other industry changes at the moment, proving Panem's continued need for Seven to stay as it is.


DISTRICT EIGHT: Fashion and Luxury
Firstly, District Eight broadened its industry beyond textiles to fashion, and it also absorbed District One's old industry of luxury items. Though District Eight has not had particularly impressive showings in the games, they also have been largely uninvolved in any sort of notable rebel activity on the Capitol's radar for quite some time. Their continued perceived obedience, then, is being rewarded with a more lucrative and subjective field of work.


DISTRICT NINE: Peacekeepers
In Mayor Shiv Irvine's continued effort to clean up District Nine once and for all, she has quietly organized the shift over to law enforcement in step with the Capitol and the High Council, who agree that drastic measures need to be taken as a last step before they start considering something more explosive. All chemical refineries are being closed down across Nine, and in their place various new Peacekeeper Training Academies and Peacekeeper housing will begin popping up. Most job offers will include becoming a peacekeeper, or working a service job for a peackeeper, or figuring something else out yourself. Citizens will see a huge increase in arrests, strict curfews will be issued until it is safe again, and anything- anything perceived as anti-capitol or rebellious activity results in severe punishment. As a result, criminal activity will drop severely.


DISTRICT TEN: Livestock
District Ten still functions well as one of the 3 primary food sources of Panem, and its industry will remain the same. Its workers will receive a slight wage increase for its continued perceived obedience to the Capitol.


DISTRICT ELEVEN: Agriculture
District Eleven still functions well as one of the 3 primary food sources of Panem as far as the Capitol and High Council is concerned, and its checkered history with the Capitol makes any near-future wage increases unlikely.


DISTRICT TWELVE: Mining and Masonry
Twelve's games performance has been historically impressive, even despite. They've strayed from open rebellious activity lately as well. As such, they've been allowed to broaden their industry to something beyond just coal for the first time in history since before the dark days. They'll be absorbing District Two's previous industry, both as a natural extension and also as another subtle dig at District Two. All coal and stone products will be exported from Twelve from now on.
