Name: Lilibrook Colluvio
Age: 12
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 5
Appearance: Lili is most often seen with bright red cheeks and a glimpse of curiosity in her eye. The strands of hair closest to her head often lay wet with sweat, even in the colder months as she moves her rambunctiousness to indoors. She got her blonde hair from her mother, and apparently her blue eyes just the same. The spirit though, that was Dad's. She'd also taken Dad's stunted growth, as even at 12 years old she seemed to grow in centimeters while everyone else grew in inches.
Dynamite comes in small packages, of course, so what Lili wasn't able to accomplish in height, she made up for in her wild ways of youth. This was something her parents dealt with through gritted teeth as she would return home after hours of playing outside. She had a mess of blonde hair that followed her everywhere she went, and had still never been seen in any kind of organized, polite condition. It often was stretched out behind her head as she sped forwards towards whatever grand adventure was next, her two little feet doing their best to keep up with the unrelenting pace of Lili's spirit. It was not uncommon for Lili to return home with twigs, leaves, and dirt attached to her hair serving as her own natural accessories.
Her pale and pearlescent complexion stood bright against the rays of the sun, where sun spots lay speckled along her arms and shoulders from exposure. They hadn't missed her face either, a whole collection of freckles of varying value and size. A couple years prior she had found a bracelet on the pond bed next to her house. She did her best to honor the bracelet and whoever left it by keeping it on her right wrist., and over the last couple of years since finding it had it become a signature. This was an exception to an otherwise unyielding rule of not wearing jewelry after several broken necklaces and lost rings later that her mom had so generously let her wear.
Personality/History: If there was one thing Lili had managed to hold on to throughout her youth it was her imagination. The wonder of being a human born to Panem was not lost to Lili. As soon as she was able she was asking Mom and Dad about the world, and even through her parents honesty she still felt that there was an inherent goodness to the world that she reveled in. There were always mysteries to solve, places to explore, and people to meet. The rose colored lenses weren't something that could be taken off of Lilibrook, innately a part of the brain that led her charge through life.
The curiosity did just show itself in the form of Lili's incessant questions. It was coupled with her sense of adventure, which really seemed to come from nowhere. In the first few years of Lili's life, her parents had a laser focus on keeping Lili safe. Keeping her safe seemed nearly impossible as Lili grew in age, with no other option than to fuel her curiosity in tangible ways. She would climb furniture in the house and stick her hands in all of the keepsake boxes in her parents room. She would fumble her tiny hands in jewelry boxes and slip necklaces over her neck. Mom was normally not the type to let people have free reign over her things - she'd come from much too rough of a past to be okay with that - but seeing Lili's eyes light up with joy any time she found a new shiny object was enough to distract her from her kneejerk instincts. She would let Lili run about with the jewelry on, and even after necklace after necklace was broken, she would still let Lili wear them, until one fateful day when Mom was not paying close enough attention to what Lili had gotten into. That was the day Lili had broken the necklace that had stayed in line of her family's women for generations.
Lili also carried with her a certain arrogance that was not common in District 5. While the breadwinner of the house went off to the refinery, Lili sat at the house with her little sister and Mom. The colder months were spent indoors in the living room, where a wooden stove kept the small house warm. During those years Anabranch was still too young to say much, but Lili made up for the both of them. As Panem warmed up, which seemed to happen overnight most years nowadays, the time spent huddled in the living room would move outside. Fantastical questions asked after Mom reading children's stories now appeared as questions about the world they were in.
Slowly a lot of Lili's questions were answered and she found herself having to think a lot harder to ask one. She'd already asked all about their garden and each of the vegetables they grew in it. She'd asked all about Dad and where he went during the day - and then also the follow up questions about what he was doing while he was there. What did an oil refinery do? What was oil? Could she have any? "But Mom it's not fair if Dad gets oil and I don't!"
Through Lili's innocent demeanor was a gremlin, kicking and screaming with unfiltered rage. She'd been disciplined enough by Dad to keep herself in check most times, but there were still the sparse moments where Lili's discernment failed her, and she found herself throwing a tantrum on their wooden floors with little to no justification. Her parents spoiled her as she grew up, doing their best to not let Lili want for much of anything. This was an overcorrection of sorts, as the couple had both come from backgrounds that were less than desirable. In their attempts to provide a better upbringing than they had received, Lili developed an insatiable desire for material objects and attention, and failure to fulfil those desires made sure to find anyone in her vicinity well aware of it.
They didn't want to see Lili suffer in the way they did, and after Dad had landed his job at the refinery and their income had become stable, the spending became more frequent. Long walks into town kept Lili on her toes, encountering fairies, sprites, ghosts, goblins, and all of the other mystical creatures along the way. Her parents would play along in Lili's curiosity, finding it a vital part of maintaining and keeping the edges of Lili's world soft. So on they would go, pushing baby Anabranch along bumpy gravel and calling out to Lili when she run ahead a little too far. When they would get to the district square, it wasn't long before Lili would be tugging at Mom's skirt for her to buy a toy that had caught her eye, or a book amongst a store's shelves. The security of a consistent income had changed the parents of Lilibrook Colluvio - two individuals who were raised by the negligence of poverty and pariahs, had suddenly found themselves in much better social standing. This was to be reinforced when they were seen in public together, buying Lili nearly anything that she asked for and occasionally even things she didn't. All of this to say that this was Lilibrook's world, and they were just living in it.
