basics
Born in The Capitol, Eric Michael Rhodes has lived amongst the fancy people for nineteen years. He is completely heterosexual and is currently studying veterinary medicine at the University in the Capitol.appearance
Standing at 6'0'' and weighing in at 141 lbs, Eric is seen as taller than most people. His skin is colored with a slight tan, the skin being a bit lighter along the inner part of his thigh and on the underside of his arm. His skin is smooth and free of impurities thanks to Capitol technology and is soft to the touch. His body hair is colored a dark brown, running down along his legs and arms. Eric stands really straight with his shoulders pushed back, not to maximize his height but to keep a good posture. He's very self-conscious about the way he looks, even though he knows he shouldn't be. He tries to do various things to keep himself in shape when he has free time, but between studying and class and all of his volunteering, he rarely has the time. But thanks to his fast metabolism, he manages to stay thinner.
His head is fairly rounded, not rigid like most of the Capitolites that he lives amongst. He has dark brown hair sitting on top, usually messy and cut shorter. His eyebrows are thick and dark as well, having almost no curve to them as they cross over his eyes. His eyes are a bright green color, often hiding behind glasses with a thick, black frame. His nose is fairly large, standing out amongst the rest of his face. It points upwards at the end, showing large nostrils. His lips are thin and long, curving into a smile that is cute in a nerdy sort of way. A retainer is currently installed in his mouth, his effort to straighten his teeth. Braces helped originally, but now the dentist has prescribed the current mouth piece. His teeth are colored a bright white due to the nightly ritual that Eric seems to go through, brushing them for two minutes and then sleeping with strips that whiten the teeth. Stubble covers his jawline which has taken him quite a long time to grow.
His shoulders are broad, making him looker larger and more built than he actually is. In reality, he's rather weak as he's usually spending his time working on school work, volunteering or reading. His chest is flat and bare for the most part, his stomach being similar. His metabolism keeps all weight off his stomach, leaving a faint outline of abdominal muscles. His arms are long, ending with larger hands. His palms are smooth and often moisturised with different things around his home. His legs are similar, most of his height coming from the long limbs. His feet are a larger size, his arch being extremely flat. His nails on both his hands and feet are smooth, except they are fairly rugged around the edges as a habit of his is to bite them.
His shoes are simple running shoes that he bought, which serve their purpose. He doesn't see the point in having super nice shoes as they are only to walk in. His pants are usually made of simple denim, varying in colors from blue to grey. Shirts are usually plaid button ups, sweater vests or basic t-shirts with thin sweaters over top. For dress clothes, he wears dark dress shoes, black dress pants and a blue button up with a black vest. His tie is also blue, switching between blue and black stripes all the way down. He owns no hats that he likes to wear and only a few accessories. A watch is always on his wrist, a white digital one. He also usually has a chain around his neck with a small charm that his father gave to him. His glasses have a thick black frame and strong lenses as he is practically blind without them. He also owns contacts for the times he doesn't want to wear the glasses.personality
Since the day he was born, Eric has always been an animal lover. More than most would think was possible, actually. He had a pet dog who he'd take care of and feed and walk and care for. He also enjoys nursing the injured ones back to health at the local pound. Animals have always been his main friends, really. Not because he's not the most social or charismatic but because he just finds that he can connect to them more. Animals just live life without drama or stuff like that, they just live because they can. And he can always talk to them without being judged or anything. That's how he's always seen it and that's how he likes it. Eric signed up for veterinary school as soon as he finished highschool, prepared to spend the rest of his life helping animals.
Eric has been in university for a long while, studying veterinary practice at Capitol University. He enjoys it there, even if he's pretty much alone. Not literally, there are thousands of people there. However, he's always been an outcast of sorts. Eric has never been the strongest on the social side, ever since he first excelled in school. He prefers to keep to himself anyways so he can read and study and work on the projects that he's given. He has always been extremely smart, textbook wise, being able to figure out most of the things he's learning before he actually learns it. He has a photographic memory, probably the only thing he likes about himself, and he tends to do well because of that. He also retains information well, remembering the smallest of things and holding on to them.
Eric has always been friendly, even if he isn't socially adept. He tries to help everybody around him, even if they bully him. Eric just wishes for everybody to be happy because then he might have a few days of peace and quiet because people aren't in bad enough moods to pick on him. He also loves to volunteer for things, often times filling up his nights by offering his services and helping out whenever he can. Sometimes he'll accept payment, depending on the difficulty of the job. Most of the time though, he'll insist on doing it for free because then their days are made. Whether it's a soup kitchen, a business center, schools or really anywhere that offers volunteering opportunities, he takes it. He actually benefits from it too, sometimes doing things for the most important people and the richest of the Capitol.
Eric has always been a perfectionist. He likes for everything to be absolutely one hundred percent perfect. If he starts something, he always makes sure to finish it and finish it well too. Sometimes, he'll often do things just to make it better. He also has some OCD tendencies, making sure everything is in place and just right. He's always been like that, ever since he was young. He always wonders why people would do things half assed when you can do it well and be rewarded from it.
The Hunger Games scare Eric. He has always been afraid of death and actually wonders why the Capitol would come up with such a sick game. However, he looks up to the victors as idols, wondering how they could be such great people. It's his life goal to meet a victor and to speak with them.history
Charlie Willis and Franklyn Rhodes weren't your average couple. You see, they didn't start out with friendship and love and feeling as if they couldn't live with out the other. They started out with marriage. The Rhodes family was one of the richest living in the Capitol, seen as royalty to some people, especially their servants that roamed the large mansion. And once it became the time that Franklyn, their oldest, was to be married, they searched for the most suitable wife. Charlie Willis was easily the best and simplest choice, as she had already been a good friend to the youngest child of the family, Malik. The two were married and only then did they begin to fall for one another. Their first child, Tyler Rhodes, was the main heir to the Rhodes fortune. And that created jealousy between him and his brother, who came four years later.
Eric Rhodes was born into the family when they were at their best. They spent plenty of time together and were actually quite a good family. But when Eric turned 6, Tyler being 10, tragedy struck. And their perfect family became not so perfect. Charlie Willis Rhodes died one day from heart failure. She didn't even reach the hospital that was a few blocks down from their large mansion. The loss hit all three really hard, mainly Franklyn. Depressed was an understatement. He had fallen in love with the girl he was forced to marry and now he had lost her. For the kids, it was tough too. Eric didn't understand it as well as the others did at the time. It was only when he turned 10 himself that he understood everything that had happened, both medically and that he'd never see her again.
For the next few years, the family barely got by emotionally. They still had loads and loads of money and the boys were as close as they possibly could be, but they were still missing that one link in the chain. She was like the glue of the family and now they were all unattached. The years went by and the seasons changed, both of the children going through the various stages of puberty. When Eric turned seventeen, he graduated from the highschool in the Capitol, prepared to continue his education in university. His brother, on the other hand, had left the Capitol in order to be the Head Peacekeeper in District One, leaving Eric and his father alone. And then Eric got accepted into the Capitol University, spending most of his time there dealing with his class work and the various jobs he had been hired in.
Currently, Eric is in his second year of University and is well on his way to being a veterinary doctor. He will be finishing vet school in two more years, getting his first degree. He also spends a lot of his time volunteering at the shops around him, hoping to get his name around the Capitol so he can easily be hired once he's out of University. The family still has the money and now that his brother is gone, he's the only heir to the money, which he likes to keep a secret. In a way, he's like a prince, but that would change people's opinion of him so he just prefers to not tell anybody, even if it might be a beneficial change of opinion. He is fully prepared to accept the money, but at this point, he's the only one that can carry on the family name. Between his father's demands for him to get a girlfriend and get married and have children and his conditions for receiving the money, Eric is just about done with all of that. But he wouldn't leave his father, ever. Not after he had to lose his wife and then lose contact with his son. Eric wouldn't be the third.ooc
