Waking up early was something Nyklus was not good at. On school days, the seventeen-year old was always woken up by his parents. Only few days did he wake up by himself. No matter what, today, Nyklus woke up at eleven-thirty, ate breakfast, and stepped outside his house. Nyklus walks outside into the hot, gleaming sun. It burns his green eyes for only a minute, but he then adjusts his pupils to the brightness. Actually, Nyklus was grateful for the sun, without it, he would barely be able to see. It also provides heat for him, and in the Spring and Summer, the Sun shows it's skills. He got outside, and District Two was already bustling with people - Nyklus didn't really understand how people woke up so early, it was noon, and Nyklus barely woke up - but the weather was nice and breezy, so going back inside wouldn't help, he actually enjoyed the temperature and weather. With his arm in a sling, he walked away from his house and to the more crowded area of District Two. As he can still taste his breakfast on his tongue, he knows eating would not be an option right now. Training at the Training Center is also preposterous as he has a broken arm. The options were really limited in a time like this, which frustrated Nyklus, as he wasn't a boy with many good ideas. As he turns his head to just walk back inside, he notices a building - on he knew he shouldn't go in. But curiosity won as he walked over to the building and decided to take a peek inside. Surely no one is going to catch him in there. As he slipped through the door, he noticed no one was even in there. It was an abandoned building."Looks like I find myself a little hiding spot." Nyklus said to himself. He really could come here every day he felt like it. His heart rate picked up as he heard something, someone else walk in. Please, please, let it be the wind or something. I'm in no shape to run now. Nyklus was hoping for the best. Be calm, be calm. Nyklus repeated the words over and over again, Be calm, be calm. Be calm, be calm. After three time of thinking it, his heart-rate sunk back to a medium-pace, that was more like

As the day began, Barryllium Sulkur found himself in a whirl-wind of memories of recent events; the afternoon jog in which he met Sylvania Legend, the poor girl that had lost her sister to the Games and part of her life to morphling. It baffled the chubby boy how much help he had seemed to give to her. In all honesty, Barry wondered if it had been only a dream. It had definitely felt like it.

The once empty streets of District 2 quickly filled as people awoke and began their daily routine. Children going over to train, adults going to work…the usual stuff; but as Barry stepped outside, he somehow knew this wasn’t going to be the usual day, at least for him…

Again.

Barryllium wasn’t sure he could handle and unusual day. What will it be this time? A dancing frog? The ghosts of dead tributes invade District 2, armed with household appliances? It wouldn’t surprise Barry.

His mother had ordered him to go to the market to buy the ingredients for dinner. It was surprising how a woman so capable with every weapon available could worry about such silly things like cooking.

As the mildly obese career hurried his way through crowded streets, Barry saw someone slip into an abandoned building out the corner of his eyes. …Eh?
Barry’s curiosity got the best of him. He hesitated at first, before turning and walking over to the building. He slipped past the door. As Barryllium explored it, glancing all around himself, he wondered what it had been used for.

Something moved. Wait, no…not something, someone! Barry almost jumped out of his skin. “WHOA!” he yelped, clutching his chest. “What the he-…You nearly gave me a heart attack!” Barry growled, glaring at a boy who had his arm in a sling.

Using the word shock in a simple sentence could cause a lot of confusion. If someone said "That was so shocking," you could suspect a lot of things:
-something loud occurred.
-electricity hit them.
-something violent struck out.
-something surprising happened.
When Nyklus got shocked, it wasn't because of clown faces, or the dark. It was mainly because of things popping out at him, like loud noises. He was shocked when he heard a male's voice speak. “WHOA!” Nyklus heard the voice, but he didn't know who it belonged to. “What the he-…You nearly gave me a heart attack!” Nyklus studied the boy's features, chubby face, fat. Nyklus wouldn't tease him anyways, he had stuff that isn't very good about him. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you!" Nyklus said, and in truth, he didn't. Looking into the boy's eyes, they looked like a green different than any other. "My name is Nyklus Moalkis, pronounced like I just said it, nice to meet ya'." He said it in a friendly tone that would hopefully make the boy stay. "I would shake your hand, but as you see, I really can't." he joked in a playful way, an inviting way. Nyklus was going to try to be nice, he was going to try to have someone to talk to, he was trying to get someone else mixed up in his secrets and lies. But Nyklus, he wasn't aware of this, only the back of his brain. The kid who was infected by alcohol was only aware that he was extremely lonely at the time.

Barryllium relaxed. The boy seemed friendly enough, if not a little...odd. Barry wasn't sure why, but he stepped back a little as the stranger spoke up. Maybe it was the fact that this Nyklus wasn't calling him a fatty yet or trying to beat him up (emphasis on "trying", with that arm). It was strange to find a male peer that decided not to turn his face into a pulpy mess.

"...It's okay." Barryllium smoothed his shirt, quickly regaining his composure. "My name's Barryllium Sulkur. Barry for short." Barry glanced around the room. "What exactly were you doing in here?"

"...It's okay. My name's Barryllium Sulkur. Barry for short. What exactly were you doing in here?" I never once heard of the name Barryllium. It was odd and unique, something very creative. His parents must have gave a lot of thought into it.

Well, anyways, I was going to answer the question. "I don't really know what I was doing here. Well, WHAT WERE YOU doing here? HAHAH." Wow, I just had a huge mental spasm. "Sorry 'bout that weird... thing that just happened to me. I really don't know what happened." Wow, I guess I was pretty awkward at times.

Barry couldn't help but step back. What the heck? Is this kid high, or something? Maybe this was a place where kids got drunk or did drugs. Maybe that was the reason why Nyklus went in. Barry scanned the other boy with supsicous eyes, trying to find any proof that this kid was into such poisons.

Well, despite the obvious, Nyklus seemed stable.

Barry cleared his throat. "No worries. But, if you must know, I came in becase I was curious."

His spasm of words might have made the kid have a strange opinion of him. Nyklus didn't even know why he did it. Probably just a jittery spas or something... he thought. He knew that was true. Sometimes people just did random things for no real reason, Nyklus, more-or-less, was one of these people. Nyklus would have apologized, but the plump kid was eying him suspiciously, like he was on drugs or he had been drinking alcohol.
Nyklus actually did drink beer at times. He also might drink some shots of wine once or twice, not thinking of the consequences. Often he comes home sick, dizzy, with a dry-throat, and being extremely tired.

"Hey mom, I don't feel so good..."
"Oh sweety, it must just be the flu" his mom was nice to him and cared for him.
"You think?" Nyklus hoped his mom would believe him, once again.
"Of course."

Drinking alcohol wasn't the only thing he lied about; and it wasn't the only thing he hid from his parents. But in reality, never once has Nyklus ever thought about taking drugs. "Oh, well, everyone can be curious at times," he said. Nyklus thoughts trailed back to the many adventures he had - following girls into an old mine shaft; and also manipulating a random girl while under thousands of flower petals. Whatever the case was, it was never the same as last time. Life was always very interesting for Nyklus. "Even me." He was sure that the kid wouldn't take that as a surprise, Nyklus didn't seem normal to most people; with a crooked posture and a broken arm. "I guess I can say the same thing," Nyklus explained. "I came in here, well, simply 'cause I was curious." The really wasn't any reason to lie in a situation like this, it's not like the mildly obese kid Nyklus was talking to was a secret-super-spy for the peacekeepers. And trust me, Nyklus wasn't even smart enough to think about that possibility, because if he did, even he would know it's unrealistic.

Barryllium dropped any suspicion that had swelled up inside him. Somehow, Nyklus' wackiness seemed to have left him, giving the slimmer boy what Barry thought to be a thoughtful air about him.

"That's true, I guess. I haven't met any person that hasn't shown curiosity," he agreed with a small nod.
