Appearance
Compared to most males my age, I'm extremely short. I take after my mom. My mom is a short woman only standing five foot two inches tall. My dad stands almost six foot tall, and it makes me jealous. I stand five foot three inches tall. I'm just an inch taller than my mom and it's aggravating, but what can I do about it? I could mope around being sad, but I wouldn't get anywhere doing that. I also take after my mom weight wise. I look like a bean pole as I only weigh one hundred twenty pounds. I have my dad's hair, and my dad's eyes though. My short, dark brown hair usually looks like I've just woke up. I flatten it out the best I can, but my hair fluffs down the middle of my head. I think it's perfect. I look scruffy according to a lot of people, and it brings a smile to my face. It's the look I'm going for. It makes me feel like I'm the biggest, baddest person alive. I need something to make up for my height. Maybe this will help keep people away. The facial hair itches though, and I end up scratching my face a lot leaving it red and raw; therefore, I end up attempting to shave my face as much as I possibly can.

My ears are large, but it's all the better to hear with. My forehead is slightly larger than I would like. I can thank my mom for that. I have my dad's icy blue, round eyes, at least, that's what I'm told. I can't see the colors of my eyes. I can't see any color for that matter. I have what is known as cone monochromacy, meaning, I'm completely color blind. I can only see in black, grey, and white. My eyebrows are thin. I had an accident involving a small explosion that burnt my eyebrows off. Thank goodness they are finally growing back. I think my nose sits perfectly on my face; however, I hate the tip of it. The tip of my nose is slightly flat with a point at the end. I never liked it, but I've learned to live with it. Below my nose is a the tiny mustache that's finally starting to grow back as well. I burnt it off in the same explosion that burnt my eyebrows off. My lips are thin, and hardly ever form a smile. I prefer to keep a straight face because I believe it hides my emotions. My voice is deep and raspy almost like I have injured my vocal cords in a way; however, I don't think I have, but it's hard to tell.

Personality
"You are a no good for nothing piece of trash. You don't belong here. Just go to hell because that's where you belong." Hearing these words use to bother me, but I don't allow it to bother me now. The things I'm told is just words, and words shouldn't hurt a person. Normally, I would retaliate, but I learned that's what they wanted. They wanted to get my riled up. They wanted to get me in a fighting mood because it was how they treated me. I have an extremely short temper that flares up extremely easily. Like a bomb that's been lit, it doesn't take much for me to detonate. I often act without thinking about the consequences. "It's best if you just shut up and leave me alone. If I belong in hell, you must belong in tartarus. Eternal suffering is what you deserve because you deserve to be dead." People need to think about who they are messing with when they try to insult me because I don't care to just rip their throats out. It would make less of a struggle for me because it's one less person to try to bring down my self esteem. I don't understand why anyone would test me because I don't care to blow up.

Hatred boils through my veins every single day of my life. I hate living in this nation. I hate being controlled by a group of people that despises me. I don't understand the people that rule this place. I don't understand how they say they love us, yet they love watching us die as we fight for survival? It disgusts me. I wish I could march to the Capitol and destroy every single one of them. They deserve to be in tartarus with the people that insult me. Eternal suffering is where every single person with authority belongs. My mom says the Capitol is right. She says I should believe them because it would make my life a lot easier, but I can't bring myself to loving someone that hates me so much. I can't love my own mom because she loves the Capitol. "Zeph, that Capitol is right. The Capitol loves us all so much. They help us. They feed us. They make sure we survive." If they love us so much, why are we forced to fight other teenagers for survival and eternal glory? If they love us so much, why is it a struggle to live from day to day? They don't love us. I don't care what anyone says because I know how much they really hate us which only causes me to hate them a hell of a lot more.

I used to believe in the myths of life. I thought life was pain free. I had no worries of the world. I didn't worry about where I'd place my head when I went to sleep. I never worried about not being able to eat because I had my parents to take care of me. It all changed when my mom was destroyed. She was destroyed the same day one my younger brothers was destroyed. I watched my dad become a drunkard. I watched him stop functioning as Krypt tried to keep him decent. I left them. I left the house that day and went to live with my biological mom. The mom that was never there for me when I was growing up. I never had enough to eat. I went days without eating because she kept everything to herself. I hated it, and it brought me so much stress in my life. I became mentally and physically exhausted. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I lost a bunch of weight. Constant headaches filled me only causing the worries of life to surround me more. I was drowning, and nobody was able to save me. Nobody could help me because I was already too far gone. I was trapped with no way to survive.

History
Eighteen years has passed since I entered the world, and in a way it's hard to believe. The first year of my life was spent with my mom and my dad; however, my mom caught my dad sneaking out on her, and she left him. She left me with him because she wanted nothing to do with me since he is my dad. My dad married another woman and had two children. Twins both a year younger than me. Kryptonite, and Kelton Zei. I loved being an older brother to them. I thought nothing of my life as I was growing up because the three of us were inseparable. The lady that I called mom would read us stories all the time so we could fall asleep without worrying. I love listening to the stories. Most of them she said were myths. Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, all the other gods that ruled the lands. Poseidon became my favorite character in the stories because he was the god of the sea. She would show us the pictures, and I heard Kelton talking about the pretty colors of it. I listened as he described the bright blue water, the yellow sun in the sky. The red and orange clouds as the sun set, but I couldn't see them. All I could see was black, white, and grey, and it broke my heart because I just wanted to see what he saw.

I grew up wishing I could see the colors that others described. During school, I failed most of the classes especially chemistry. The teacher wanted us to grab the colored tubes, but no matter how many times I told him I couldn't see colors, he didn't listen. I usually ended up causing minor explosions burning off my facial hair. It's funny because I would dump what I thought was the blue liquid tube into a test tube with what I thought was the orange liquid tube, and it would bubble for a bit before exploding in my face. People would laugh at me, and I would laugh too because if I didn't laugh, I would cry from the pain. I hated being laughed at, but it never stopped because as soon as my eye brows would grow back, I would end up doing the same thing again. I became angry at people laughing at me. I hate people treating me like I'm nothing. I stopped trying to be friendly to people. One day I told my teacher off because he wanted me to fail. He didn't want me to succeed. He liked watching the explosions burn off my eye brows. My entire life was changed though when Krypt and Kelton went to work with my mom, and only Krpyt survived.

An explosion happened, and I stopped messing around. I didn't want that to happen to me. I didn't want to end up covered in scars like he did. I didn't want to watch people die around me, so I stopped going to school altogether. My dad stopped functioning, and it was impossible for him to raise me, and Krypt, so I went to live with my biological mom. She was pissed that I moved back in with her. She hated me because I was born of a cheating man, and I believe she'll always hate me no matter what I do. Maybe it'll be best for me to die a death I'm deserving of because I don't belong here. I belong dead just like everyone tells me constantly. I get hungry enough to rummage through dumpsters to find food that seems to be edible because she won't provide for me. When I turned eighteen, I moved out of her house and started roaming the streets trying to survive. Just the other day, I moved back in with my dad and Krypt because at least I'd have a roof over my head. I don't have to worry about freezing to death in the subzero temperatures of winter. It's nice to at least have a caring dad who'll at least help me survive.
