✰ ASTRA SELEN .
Magic, witchcraft, occult. It has many different names, just as it can take many different forms.
Where yesterday lay the art of transformation, today lies the vanishing act. You could call it predictable, the oldest trick in the book. But the simplest parts of the universe – so often overlooked and forgotten – deserve appreciation too.
That’s what you aim for, as you approach the purple-painted box in the centre of the stage.m Déjà vu, you are quiet, no introduction this time. Nothing but the trusty red blanket held tightly in your grasp to signify your intention. The weight of it falls in easy ribbons around you as you hold it in front of the box and let your eyes fall shut.
Even you do not know all of the secrets of the world yet. There is still so much to learn, so much untapped power in your veins, you would surely drown if you tried to swim in it for too long. So you stick with the known, that is still unknown, because you can’t explain how it happens when you force your mind to open, force the box to move all on its own, but it does, somehow.
You throw away the blanket, take two steps to the right, and you are alone on an empty stage.
Of course, it is not enough to make something disappear. For the act to truly be complete, you must bring it back. Even mysteries need some type of happy ending.
And you see it, reach for it with a pointed finger as the word follows, turning on its axis, and there. A purple crate buried in the back corner of the room, solitary and solid.
Maybe it is magic. Maybe it was there all along. You hear the accusations play out around you before you’ve even left the stage.
So, let them talk.
You smile.
