So some of you know I have a friend(Abe) who recently committed suicide via hanging himself. To clear things up, he was in his 30's, but a friend is a friend. Age doesn't matter much to me.
It's been rough on everyone. Especially his girlfriend(also a good friend of mine) who he was living with. She blames herself for not being able to stop him. Anyway, things have gotten worse as we've found out more about what happened. He had planned to propose to his girlfriend, she got a call from a jewelry store about the ring. So that added to her misery.
My mom got a letter from his mom the other day. Talking about how so many people were terrible to him and she was glad I never let the stories scare me away. That he always thought I was a great kid. I, of course, burst out crying again. His girlfriend also told me that he always did really like me, and felt bad his sister was so nasty to me(whole different story).
Then to make things worse, I just found out from his girlfriend. He was bi-polar, but being treated for severe depression. When he first got put on meds he called the doctor after taking them for a bit saying he felt worse than ever. The doctor didn't take him off said medication, instead added another one. Yet again Abe called them, things were only getting worse. So once again they didn't take him off the medication or put him in a hospital. Instead they upped the dosage. Two days later he killed himself. I am in such shock. I'm angry, sad, upset, I'm confused. The doctors should somehow be held responsible for this. He shouldn't have died. I hope the family files a wrongful death lawsuit against the doctors...
So I'm frazzled, the tears are coming back. This never should have happened. And it did because some ridiculous doctors wouldn't freaking listen to him! Sorry for the rant, this is just really eating at me.
