Chole Corby
Chole crawled through the sand, she could barely feel anything apart from the burning ferocity of the pain that soared through her, and she felt as though she was on fire. She felt that nothing she could do would end this burning pain, for a moment she actually thought she had died, that she was now in hell, but reality had hit her. She was still alive, just but alive all the same. Finally she reached the trees where she desperately hang the only faith she had. That she would be able to find Nonnie and Haff. They were the only people she could trust out here and she needed them. She lay still for a moment, her body racking with pain.
Slowly she rolled onto her back, breathing hard she felt the first tears well in her eyes, blurring her vision. With every breath she took pin rocketed through her body. The gash on her stomach was bleeding heavily and there was nothing Chole could do to stop the blood that surges from her stomach. well she never thought she die like this… Chole tries to remember the last time she had felt pain similar to this. But nothing came to her mind, the only thing that she could think about was the pain, it burns but feel stone cold at the same time. It’s constant, but throbbing as well. could it get much worse? instantly her mind flew to death. yes death could be worse her brain told her, certain.
But could it?
If she were to fall into the arms of death now… all the pain would go away, she would be free, free of the pain, of life… of the capitol… pull yourself together! Chole told herself firmly. She couldn’t think like that. If she did… yeah well she couldn’t. Chole Tried to get to her feet but she couldn’t she was so exhausted. Her body felt as heave as a ton of boulders. So she just lay on the ground. Maybe if she pretends to be dead… other tribute would leave her alone…
Chole gave a grunt of hysterically laughter, it sent surges of pain through her body, but her laughter continued. Leave her alone? They just going to walk past her and leave her alone… what bull shit. Chole’s laughter rang out through the woods beside her, she tried to stop, but the harder she tried the worse it became.
Her laughter turned from hysterics to tears as sobs racked her body. Tears fell from her cheeks and onto the ground, making small buddles of salty water. Then suddenly Chole had the urge to stand up, to find the others. She wasn’t going to die, she was to young, she had a lifetime ahead of her, and she wasn’t going to let herself give up that easily, not this time, not now. With all her effort she pulled herself to her feet.
She walked a couple of confident paces before her face made contact with the ground…Well at least you tried…
