"Lovely," Lace responded to Lucas' agreement to go eat. "Don't worry about the distance. It is just down the street here. Should only take two or three minutes," Lace told him. She readjusted her bag to go over her shoulder, and held onto the strap with her left hand. She coyly flitted her other hand down the street, in the direction that they would be traveling.

Lace began to walk down the street in the brisk morning air, and noticed that they were starting to become more and more crowded. Now, you've been delayed, and won't be able to beat the morning foot traffic,

[/size] Lace thought. No matter. Maybe this little date will make up for it ten fold.[/color][/size]

"Make sure to keep up, Lucas!" Lace called over her shoulder to make sure he was still right behind as she began to quicken her pace into what she called the "city walk". Or in longer terms, the way that you walk in the city while maneuvering through large crowds, but still looking prim, proper, and sexy."Morning traffic is beginning, and I don't need you getting lost in the crowd!" she continued, not exactly knowing how he would respond to the slight playful teasing. Lace payed careful attention to her shoes to make sure that she didn't break her heel yet again like she had yesterday. Especially now with Lucas watching. All of this energetic, strong willed, sophistication that she was going for would be completely ruined if that were to happen.

Lace wanted to take extra precaution that this played well for her. She hadn't been on a date in a quite some time, not that she would admit exactly how long, and didn't want to mess this one up. Lucas seemed like a tough cookie though, and from what she had seen- she knew he would not just be her flunky. He would give Lace Sheen a run for her money, alright.

Down the street, just coming into eye sight, was the little café that Lace was headed for. It didn't seem like there was a line yet, but it was too hard to tell. They were still a good quarter mile away from the place.[/font][/color][/blockquote]

Lucas began to walk close to her as she walked towards the cafe, hoping it wasn't to long of a walk. She had answered him without even hearing the question inside his head. That was a little bit funny, but not enough to let out a laugh, especially when she couldn't be able to tell what he was laughing about. He probably already seems different to her, which is something he wants her to think about him. Let's keep it at a mild difference though.

Oh, the joys of walking through this crowd. It would be a little difficult to get to the cafe at the speed Lace wanted to now, but looks like she knew how to push through anyway. Good choice of people to talk to this morning Lucas. He could tell she still wanted to look sexy. It wasn't hard to tell that was what she was doing.

Lucas began to play a game. The game where he would try as fast as possible to get through the crowd without touching anyone. It was a fun game to play in a crowd like this, yet it could be pretty difficult too. Compared to Lace though, he wasn't trying to do two things at once, he just tried to get through so he had to slow down and make sure he wasn't to far behind or in front of her every so often through this sea of people.

"Don't worry Lace, I won't get to far behind you." Lucas said, standing behind her while walking. He said it with a playful tone, trying to see if she would understand that it wasn't hard for him to get through here. He has done it before, just like most people in district one have done.

This seemed like it was going to be an interesting breakfast. Two people who seem to know what they are doing and how to talk to each other as if its something they have done for years? Such a good time, or at least that's what Lucas sees it as. How will it lead?

"Let's get to this Cafe of yours. It must be close by now." Lucas said trying to get a little bit ahead of her, but then he remembered that she just bought new heels today, that was probably why she wasn't walking as fast as she could to get to the breakfast. He kept her pace instead, that way he wouldn't seem rude. Or he hoped he wouldn't.

Lace turned back to Lucas at his comment, and smiled. "Oh good! I'm glad you know how to make your way through a crowd. If not, then I could have toted you along myself!" Lace laughed, and turned back to weaving in and out of the crowds. Faces flew past her bright blue eyes, but she barely gave any notice to them as she went along her way. There were so many citizens of District 1 that she had never even seen many of these people before. Most of them were adults though. It was still early enough on the weekend that most teenagers would be in bed sleeping. A few might be on their way to work- but hey, not many teens had to work in District 1.

I don't know how the kids in other districts do it. Actually having to work? My God! What a damper to your day that would be. Not to mention the squalor half of them live in. I would just be begging to get into The Games if I lived anywhere that was District . . . ah I'll be nice- District 4 down. I just couldn't handle that. At least if I was going to die in The Games, then I would have a good week of eating, and living well. I wonder why no one from the other Districts don't volunteer . . .

A fresh gust of cool wind nearly kept Lace's words in her mouth as she turned to tell Lucas that they were arriving at the café. "We're here, Lucas! Just to the left," Lace shouted back. She side stepped through the crowd, and pulled Lucas firmly by his left shoulder onto the sidewalk. Not relieving her grip, she pulled him into the alcove at the entrance of the café, and out of the way of the growing crowds.

"And here were are, Lucas. The nice little café," Lace told him. She gently pushed open the door, and let it close behind Lucas. When it closed, the street noises were muffled by such a degree that the little breakfast joint seemed to be a haven, not to mention the toasty warmth that had Lace stripping off her silver sequined scarf. Lace inhaled deeply and let wafts of bread, syrup, bacon, and other scrumptious foods flow over her nostrils. It made her forget that Lucas was with her for a few momentary seconds.

Wow, wasn't that random? Feeling her hand grab his shoulder to pull him through was totally unexpected. Okay, so she had said that it was right there. Guess that should have gave him the warning about grabbing his shoulder, but it was still really weird for him. Next time he needs to be more careful about where he is walking, so that way he doesn't need to be ripped pulled out of a crowd.

The door closed behind him and sound was muffled. Silence was golden at times and now was one of them. The sea of people outside the door was so loud, but inside this shelter it was peaceful. It felt amazing to feel so relaxed in this cafe.

The aroma of the food was stuck inside his nose also. Lucas couldn't have it escape at all. He had to hold back his instinct to try to grab a plate and get straight to eating because that would make him seem like someone with no manners. It smelled mouth watering though, some things are more difficult to handle. Smells are something that can never escape since a lot of people tend to breath with their noses.

Lucas walked towards the counter, and asked to be seated. Oh how he hoped it would be a fast wait. He didn't feel like waiting very long for the food. Maybe a good topic with Lace would make the wait shorter. They were sat in a booth on the left side of the cafe. He couldn't order yet, because to be honest he had no idea what he wanted.

"Um. For now all I'll get is a drink, some water please, I should have my order when you get back. What about you Lace?" Lucas said looking over the menu as the waiter waited for an answer.

Lace followed Lucas, and the waiter as they were taken to a booth on the left of the small café. Lace squeezed into the sit across from Lucas, and sat her bag besides her, and crossed her legs from under the table. She fixed the back of her heel, inconspicuously, and hid a wince as she put it back into place.

Damn heels! I need to break these things in slower than this. Well, at least we got a booth seat. They're always the best. Away from all of those nosy people that may try to catch a glimpse at your conversation! Nice and tucked away. A good place for a date.

"I will have a Vanilla Chai Tea, please," Lace smiled to the waiter as he nodded, and took off to prepare their drinks. "I always love a good tea," Lace said aloud as she opened up her menu, and pretended to look through it. Lace had been to this café so much, that she knew automatically what she wanted to order. However, she didn't want to go too fast since Lucas was not prepared, and frankly, she thought it might seem a bit wired to him.
After a few moments of browsing mindlessly she looked up at Lucas. "Any ideas on what you are going to order, Lucas?" she asked him nicely, purposely giving his foot a little nudge from under the table. "I believe I shall be settling for the Berry Brandy Crepe," she told him.

I hope that doesn't sound too fancy for him or anything. It'll probably end up freaking him out. Oh, I should have gotten pancakes or something simple! And all he got was water? Goodness, he seems to only be getting plainer, plainer, and plainer![/size]

Lace pulled her hand mirror out from her pure, and applied a thin glossy coat of silver lip balm to her full lips. She quickly closed it back up, and looked at Lucas eagerly to find out what he had decided to order for breakfast.

Wow, he couldn't help but smirk at how she ordered. He hadn't ever been here before and she orders that as soon as possible. Ah how interesting that is. Makes this for even more fun, but now to choose something so he wouldn't seem to boring for her. Hopefully it wouldn't be to bad. Looking through that menu though, well, there was a lot.

"I'll probably be getting the strawberry crepe with an omlete. Something with a plain taste to fill my stomach better with the crepes." He said choosing something quickly that would fill his taste with this aroma of food placed around him.

First her nudge, then some lip gloss? Hm. Well guess this is a date, not much choice now. Might as well make it good now. It has already been pretty fun for him so far. Why not make it even more?

Lucas told Lace what he was planing on ordering, and she smiled in delight. "Fantastic choice, if I say so myself. Strawberries are positively delicious!" Lace exclaimed, leaning into Lucas on her last word, and letting it roll off of her tongue, trying to give that last word some elevated "sexy"."At least, it seems that you'll be getting a healthier crepe then I am. I should probably watch myself, and don't want to have to work off to much weight!" Lace told him.

In way it was a little bit of a test. How would he respond to this. Would he agree with her statement? Would he say that she didn't need to watch her weight? Maybe, he would even ignore the comment all together. Lace knew that she didn't need to worry about gaining weight, because of her metabolism, but she knew Lucas did not. Did Lace think it was twisted to make him respond to a female weight question? Yes. Did Lace think that his response was valuable? Of course.

"Educational fact of the day, Lucas: too much berry brandy, and it will go to all the wrong places. Of course, you hadn't need to worry about that right now. You have nothing to worry about in the excess fat department," she giggled quietly, and tossed a misplaced lock of curly light blond hair over her shoulder.
