When she tells Saryniti about Sapphire she knows for sure she can trust her. Saryniti listens intently and seems to really understand what she's saying. Saryniti makes a comment that no one had ever said to her. It seemed to make Blaire really happy, lifting her spirits of hoping that maybe she would make a new friend who would truely understand. "It must have been hard for your family." Saryniti said. It was such a simple sentance but it meant so much. Blaire nodded. "It still is. I really miss her." She said in response.
Finally someone who really understands. Blaire thinks to herself. A very small smile appears on Blaire's face. She has a bit of a tear in her eye and it rolls down her cheek. It lands on the sketchbook, joining the stains of the old tears. She wipes any other tears from her face. Two people she was really close to had already died and she didn't want to join them. She already knew how hard her mother's death had been on Cassie and Sapphire. Blaire, Emily, and Samantha had been devastated as well. Her mother had died the year of the 52nd games. One year before Sapphire was reaped.
Blaire begins to softly sing the lyrics of a song Sapphire used to sing to her.
"When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up: To more than I can be."
The song begins to remind her of her sister and the Mockingjays begin to copy her singing. Blaire was never much of a good singer but she could sing soprano when she wanted to. She didn't sing very loud because she wasn't intending on anyone else really hearing her. No one else was in the meadow except for her and Saryniti so she was okay with singing. Saryniti seemed to comfort her. She was hoping more for Saryniti than herself that the odds were ever in their favor.

Notes: My longest post ever. I feel happy. Well that and I am sick today so I'm at home and was typing this for like 20 minutes at the least. The song is "You Raise Me Up."
