The Bloodbath

Alikia Lombrary was dead- her life was taken from her by another tribute from the games. Her blood had run from her and her heart had given up, she had taken her last breath and watched as the world faded before her green eyes. Her body had been scooped from the arena, taken home and buried beside her mother; she was finally at rest. Life was far from the girl of District 6, so when life suddenly rushed into her lungs as she took another breath- Alikia was somewhat shocked and frightened. She had died, she had felt her heart stop her body go cold- everything had been over but now, she was standing on a platform slowly rising through a darkened tunnel; at first she thought she had dreamed her death but though she could feel her heart beating strong, she felt cold as ice. She was in the games again- she was not sure how this was possible but somehow she stood there rising into another arena where she would die again- if that were even possible. The sunlight blinded her as she rose above the rim of the hole- obscuring the view of the arena for a few moments until the flare had died down; and what she saw was certainly stomach churning. She was surrounded by bright and fluorescent colours ranging from pink to red; the whole arena and the plants in it was constructed of Sweets. For a moment, she was certain that the cornucopia was made of chocolate too- but that was ridiculous, right? Alikia shook her head in astonishment- the Capitol had really taken it to a whole new level; even her outfit was utter crazynees, it was a bright plaid dress with knee high socks and school shoes- she imagined she looked like a doll or something. As she looked around she noticed they had even bought back others from her games including Razor Creel and August Millory. She felt drawn to August, Seah and Walker and thought it would be best if she stuck with them; as the countdown came to 5….4…..3…2….1……BOOM. Alikia knew it was time to run- so she set off towards the cornucopia as fast as she could.

What the heck? I start running when all of a sudden that walker guy attacks. then my worst enemy attacks great. I get up and charge at Seah because he is my enemy and I must get him!

Already blood was being spilled, and Semper staggered off of his plate and into the fray. He could hear voices calling, and the world around him appeared to be moving in slow motion. The hot, sticky air clung to his face, and the gentle smell of sweets wafted past. In all the carnage he wondered whether or not anyone had stopped to notice the rainbow of colors off in the distance—the Gumdrop mountains. He shook himself back to pay attention, realizing that the time for taking in his surroundings would be later. He thought of Ree—keep me focused—and shoved past the nearest tribute, reaching for a weapon.

Jestina had been shocked when somehow she had been recalled to participate in another Hunger Games. She already died once in these games, so why were they putting her through it all again? Why were they putting any of these people through it all again? Either way she had no idea what was going to happen, but did know her strategy had changed from last time. She was running into the fray.

Her partner was to be Noelle Pines and well they had planned on getting some goods and high-tailing it to the forest. Jestina recognized her partner a ways away and knew they would have to exit at the same time to be able to find each other in a LOLLIPOP FOREST? This arena was candy themed for crying out loud! What were the gamemakers thinking?

With the blast of the gong, Jestina was running for her life hoping to get something good from the Cornucopia.

Alive. He's alive after so many years, but where?

His plate clicks into place and brown eyes sweep the other tributes. Some he recognize, and a lot he doesn't. They're all marked though- scarred by their Games. He has the same tingling scars criss crossing his won skin. The most painful one is a gash in the back of his head, cutting through the hair and leaving a gruesome, twisted scar in its wake. Another line of jagged, pink tissue wraps around his left ear where it had been severed in his own Games.

The seconds tick by.

This Arena is like nothing he's ever seen before. It looks like over sized candy canes in the distance like the ones in shop windows he used to yearn for... when he was alive.

30 seconds.

Another Games.

20 seconds.

Another chance.

10 seconds.

A whole new crop of suspects.

5 seconds.

One of them had to have done it. That's why he's here.

It's all to familiar - yet all so different. I don't what'd I prefer: this sweet arena or the mythological one. They were both so pretty, yet I can bet this one holds as much dangers as the last. Nonetheless, I lunge for the next object my eyes catch, and once again attack the person in front of me.

The world shifted and turned around him, his victor house in the sky trembling with the noise, causing the paintings to quake from their fastenings. “Razor? What’s happening?” “I.. I don’t know Saskia.” Razor leapt to his feet and started for the door. The afterlife had never shook before and it made him uncomfortable. The door blew off of its hinges and a cold wind blew in, bringing with it a booming voice.

“Congratulations, Razor Creel! You have been selected as district two’s tribute for the afterlife games.”

“What the f-” was all he had time to say as a gust of wind sucked him out of the house and into oblivion.

When his sight came back, he found himself standing on a platform on a brownish landscape. The air was sweet. Unnaturally so. Razor made no sudden movements, but looked around airly, seeing other teens. Other tributes. Seaborgium was a few platforms away, but with the exception of a few faces, the people were foreign to him. No sign of his beloved. The platform next to him held a hard-eyed girl who gave him a sense of deja vu. Harvey? The Nash Harvey? The hell is this?The counter started to go down, but surprisely, Razor didn’t feel any twist in his stomach. No apprehension. I’m already dead so what’s this supposed to do? What is this for?The bell dinged and Razor found himself running for items. Heh. Old habits die hard.

It was time. One of the first things Sapphire Ross noticed as she was being lifted up into the arena was that she was missing an eye; leftover damage from her first death, no doubt. If this really was a second chance, she was determined not to screw it up. Of course, she probably would anyway; she usually did. And the fact that she was allied with her sister's deceased former lover did not make this situation any more appealing.

Bright sunlight streamed at her as she rose above the ground, and the first thing she saw was... candy?

It’s just like last time. Blood and chaos all mixing together in a wild chase for life. Zack knows the drill and, leaping off his plate, anger swells up in him. Anger at the living, anger at the dead- anger at them all. He failed her last time, he doesn’t plan on doing it again.

It was like dreaming at the very end of a deep sleep — such a long space of darkness, of rest — and then something that couldn't possibly be real. It was… and arena, yes — there was the cornucopia, and she was standing on her metal plate, and… but… there was something off… it was the tributes, she didn't recognize them — well, there were some… that girl from three looked familiar, and the boy from twelve was a tribute awhile ago… the girl from nine. But the girl from one, that wasn't… who was it supposed to be? I care. I care a lot actually. But she was familiar, even if it wasn't the redhead that she was expecting — wait a moment…

Topaz.

That sounded right, that's who her eyes sought to see — that should be Topaz and she was Nash. But — And — she — herself, she was all chewed up — she looked down at her hands; one was still covered in dried blood… everything was fuzzy and out of order but — Topaz, do me a favor? Kill me. — the images, the words, everything was still there —

That wasn't Topaz, but she was familiar because — reaping — on the train, Nash had seen — there had been reapings, other districts, and in District ones — Sapphire Ross! — and the redhead — I volunteer!

That was Topaz's sister.

And that was the gong. Without even realizing her feet were taking her anywhere, Nash took off toward the pile of items.

I pushed away every thought of my brothers that pounded my head. Nagging me, telling me how much better they could do themselves. Dang, two minutes in and I’m hearing things, isn’t this going to be pleasant. If they could do so much better themselves, why aren’t they here instead of me? I don’t even know why I’m here, AGAIN. I thought I was done with the games when I you know…died? I was going to say stranger things have happened, but I’m not sure I can. Actually, I’m positive, I can’t.
