OOC: I've decided to give Mel some colour so living, speaking.
Mel woke before dawn with a familiar feeling coursing through her. As she looked around her dark room everything felt distant and fuzzy. There was a pressure that pulsed in her ears and hung around her brain making everything feel muted, foggy. In the times when this feeling subsided she would always curse herself and promise to do more to get back to normal whenever the fog returned again. Every time it did she broke that promise. In her normal frame of mind she feared these times more then anything, her heart would race just thinking about what would happen the next time. Now though she let herself be pushed and pulled by the strange force inside her making her way through her room blindly and got dressed. When she was ready she made her way to the front door, picking up her bag from the table nearby and slinging it over her shoulder in a practiced motion. She walked out of her house and down the street, there was one thought coursing through her brain.
I want to see the sunrise
She wasn't aware of it but she was whispering that sentence to herself over and over as she walked through the streets of District Three. Some words fading in and out of being audible to passers by, if there were any, creating disjointed phrases whispered to the air.
Her feet stopped and Mel looked to see where they had taken her. She stood in front of an old damaged building, one of the tallest structures in the district, nothing but the metal structure towering over the area like a giant metal claw. Mel's eye caught a beam that stood out from the rest of the building hanging out from almost the very top.
That's where I need to be she thought.
The two phrases running through her mind slipped out her mouth out of order and bunched together as she reached the base of the building and began to climb. Higher and higher she went concentrating only on the perch that was destined for her.
"Need where to sunrise to see the sunrise that's where the sunrise needs to be" Her words where getting louder as she approached her destination.
Finally her hand grasped the base of the beam and she swung herself up so that she was sitting on it. Having reached her perch she quieted and looked toward the east, toward the sunrise.
