"What happened to you!?!" Anger and concern filled their oldest sister Bluebell's voice. If it hadn't been a regular event for Gala to get into a fight certainly worry would take over her voice like the first few times Gala came home with a few bruises occupying her face.
"I-" They didn't even need to question which one of them got into trouble, whenever one could tell them apart it was because Gala did something bad. Though sometimes it did result in Gwen also getting messy in some way.
"Did you get into another fight?" Bluebell didn't even give her a chance to answer, her hands placed up on her hips. All she needed now was to wag around that scrawny finger of hers. "Where have you been all day?" She followed up with another question, making the two before hand rhetorical questions she already knew the answer to. Her eyes bounced from both of the twins, knowing that Gwen knew all the answers as well.
"We were at training." Automatically Gala shot Gwen a nasty look for giving up the truth so easily; honestly she was hoping to not bring it up at all. Even if she didn't come home with a few bruises and a cut they would jump down their throats knowing they went to the Career gym.
"Training for what?" Bluebell's eyes narrowed, knowing the answer wasn't training for the circus, and there wasn't much other things to train for in District Two. The majority of the other sisters were also in the conversation, just letting the oldest do all of the speaking. How their parents only produced girls was annoying, and Gala & even Gwen were wishing to have a brother like Matthew.
"For the games." Gala admitted in a hushed voice, both pairs of the girls' eyes going down at the same time. "You girls what?" And the lecture began; how they shouldn't be thinking of the games. How there's so many other girls in this District it's unlikely they'll be chosen. How they needed to concentrate on the circus. And especially that Gala needed to stay away from violence and trouble. "Now go train for what you're suppose to be training for!" After an hour Bluebell's lecture finally ended, both the girls sighing in relief and running off to the large tent before she remembered anything else to add.
Every week the girls attempted to add in a few new tricks, they did have a lot of regulars. After each performance was choreographed one of their older sisters had to test them to make sure they'd be safe 50 feet higher in the air. It was awfully tough, having to hold each position for five times longer then they'd actually have to hold it, they found it pointless. But their sisters found it life saving. "Hold it." Bluebell instructed wanting to give special attention to the twins were being on such good behavior.
They edited the trick that they showed their Trainer; but this time they both stood on top of the narrow bar, both jumped off, Gala grabs the bar and Gwen grabs Gala's ankles. It was certainly one of the scariest ones they've practiced so far, having to get the coordinations down just right or Gwen could fall to the hard cold floor. And if Gala didn't have the strength to hold them both up, they'd both go tumbling to the floor. Next Gala had to hold her pull-up with her sister clinging to her angles. She could feel her arms shaking probably from the previous fight from only a few hours ago. Then use all of her abs to bring her legs and sister up to a point Gwen could grab back onto the bar. Except that she had been punched in the stomach during the fight and after two seconds they both fell the ten feet.
"That would of done lots of damage from 50 feet." Bluebell had bent down next to them, but not to offer any comfort. "Now do you understand why you should only be doing this?" She asked, her voice turning sweet which only made the entire thing so confusing. "Back to practice, see you in a few hours. Big show tomorrow." She instructed leaving the room. Of course the girls went back to practicing.
Their oldest sister Bluebell the ringmaster began the saturday night show, which is always bigger then friday nights for some reason. Even after performing for probably hundreds of times, nervous always filled everyone. At least the twins wanted to think their sisters also got the butterflies. The youngest warmed up the crowd with her contortionist act, then the ringmaster, then the clown and juggler, then the ringmaster, then the tightrope walker, then the ringmaster. Finally Bluebell announced "Flipping through the air, we have our trapeze twins!" If only they could start of by swinging in, but they had yet to convince their sisters for that.
Each ran to the center from opposite sides of the large tent, doing a few flips and cartwheels in the process, all the way to where their bar to take them up high awaited. They each stood on a side, finding their balance within seconds just before being lifted into the air. The simple traditional tricks were presented, swinging one another through the air, doing flips and being caught by the other one. All the gasps brought so much encouragement. Lastly they performed the trick they had practiced all day and only landed perfectly once was their ending. Both girls jumped backwards, Gala grabbing the bar and her twin grabbing her ankles, all within seconds. She brought them both up, getting her chin past bar and shortly her entire arm above it.
Even with Gala's stomach being shaky still from the fight she had pushed it enough to bring up her legs and her sister. High enough for her sister to make a giant leap from her ankles and onto the bar. A huge sigh came from both of them at that accomplishment. Both swinging themselves up to sit on the bar and catch their breath as they lowered back down, and run to the back of the stage. They exchanged a smile, as if tonight was the determination that they could do career training and trapeze training. Now to just throw on their skirts and sit through saying hi to everyone that enjoyed the show.
