I lay here in the hospital bed in the triage room, waiting to see what the doctors are going to do for me. I've got no clue where Matthew is, or if he's even here but my mind's been too much in a whirl to really comprehend what's going on. Just the severe pain that's radiating throughout my entire arm is making me stay fully alert and awake. The numbness, however, seems to still be lingering for reasons that it has to be the fact that someone had mentioned that it looked as if my elbow was dislocated. If that's so, then I've got a rough night ahead of me not to mention the pulsing pain that's located closer to the middle of my arm in the same spot that my previous broken bone was. She had to have re broken that bone. Losing my balance after she nailed me, must have done it with the weight I was bearing on it. Shit this freaking hurts! If I ever see her again, it'll be too soon. I confess within my thoughts as Jeran walks into my room to inform me of what's going on with my care.
"So, what did they say? Are they just gunna try to pop it back and give me a cast or what? What did the xrays say?" I question him but by the grim look on his face, it seems to be worse than that. He shakes his head toward me and plops down on the bed and brings one leg up to make himself more comfortable.
"Well, you're lucky they beleived the story about you being jumped and attacked, but the xrays don't look that good. They've called dad since he's not here, but Kya... they have to do the surgery to repair the damages to your elbow. That's why you can't feel much of anything but numbness cause it's pinching a nerve or something they said. I did'nt get the whole meaning of what's going on. I just overheard them telling dad thatt he's given them the go ahead and I'm going to be the 'guardian' to sign for you. I'm sorry, Kya."
Everything he's saying hits me in more ways then one. The damages that Vy did is worse then I was thinking, but with the amount of pain I'm experiencing, I should have imagined it. "That bitch..." I mutter and let my eyes close heavily against the morphling that's going through my viens. They are going to do the surgery in a few hours, but they need to make sure of the plan they are going through to do this for me, so while I wait, I ask for more pain meds and soon enough, they're giving me the best stuff they got.
It not only works that good, but I'm completely out of it until there's this meek little voice that meets with my ears and this small, cold hand that grips onto my good arm. The little fingers trace their way up and down each of my fingers until I start coming out of the medical induced slumber. My arm feels like it's bound up tight and when I look down, I see my entire arm covered with brace. It extends from my wrist up to my elbow and then the upper part is tight around my bicepts. With it resting completely on the two pillows, I try to move it only to get nothing in return. I'm too weak to actually lift my arm. I groan out as I look over at the blond curls of the child and her sweet and delicate face graces me with a smile.
"Hello..." I whisper out although I'm sure my speech is somewhat effected since my mouth feels like it isn't attatched right. The child seems to understand me though and points to my arm that the brace covers entirely.
"Boo-boo?" She questions me with her sweet little eyes, the little iris's locked dead on the funny looking device on my arm. I look over at my arm and see what she see's and I try to think of what's going through her mind, but also something else comes to my mind... Who does she belong to?
"Nurse?" I call out weakly then start fishing around for the call light but I come up short and just sit there with the child that has started messing with the button on the side of the bed, raising and lowering the foot of the bed. "Hey, little one... don't press the buttons. Where's your mommy?"
I move to sit up but find it harder than before. My body won't cooperate with me so I just relax against the hospital pillow. My eyes do, however, turn to the side and notice the privacy curtain pulled in between my bed and the other patients bed. I'm more than happy for my own privacy right now, but I start to question where Jeran was and more than ever, if Matthew was here. Again, I call out for the nurse because this adorable little girl is now trying to climb on the bed.
"Nurse?"
