Being her in the peacekeeper academy is going to be one hell of a ride. Today's only the first day, but I've met with one Sergent whose already given me my first peice of advice. Learn the names of my commanding officers and any ranking official that is higher than a cadet. They inform us that we're the lowest of the low here. We are bascially the booklickers of this place and if one of us gets out of line, then we'll probably get a verbal lashing in front of the squad we'll be put in or some for of physical excercise to deal with our discrepancies and insubordination. A way to teach and keep us under wraps. All of this is just the icing on the cake for now. Tomorrow starts the real tests. Along with learning the ropes, we'll be dealing with the names of our highers.
"Sergent Mets: Old. Clean shaven. Bald head. Wart or something near his left eye on his pale and wrinkled skin." I mutter to myself. Beside me, the uniforms lay and without a second thought, I go to close the door shut for a moment and return to my bed and begin to replace my shirt with the casusal uniform top. My pants are done in the same fashion. Just as soon as my boots are laced, I get up and return the door to the position so that I may see the people marching by. My eyes survey the bunk beds again and begin to wonder if I'll really have the place to myself. It might be nice, no kidding about that. Though, to have to deal with the everyday inspections, is there really any way to get past that? What happens in this room, will fall on me and me alone. No other person to share a punishment with, but one good thing is at least I won't get the other cadet in trouble with the same punishment.
No.
That's the fastest way to make an enemy is to let your own misjudgements and flaws make it hard on someone else. With nothing much to do for the first day, this allows me some time to myself. It gives me ample time to really get used to what's going on here and in this place. The first day shouldn't be bad at all and I hope that I don't get any kind of grief or more than I've already gotten. The bed is hard but don't waste any time laying back and letting my head hit the pillow. Not the softest, but I'll get used to it. Have to. There's no other choise at all. A heavy sigh comes from me when my gaze goes straight up to the ceiling and I get lost in the bumpy pattern trying to work it like a maze. Where one part starts and where it ends without it getting stopped by a blockade or something. It seems to tire me out quickly, so I advert my attention back to the uniforms I was given.
"Guess I should start now keeping this place up to par for the uniforms." I state, kicking myself off the bed and up to the wardrobe directly in the middle of the two beds. Inside, the hangers sit ready for use and I grab the first and put the first uniform on it before doing the same to the next. This time, I start with my duffle and pull out the clothing I'll be needing as well as any deodorants and soaps. This place isn't no hotel. You bring your stuff from home. You bring what you need with you and leave the items that hold you back. Stuffing the socks into the drawer, from behind me, I hear a male voice asking if there was any vacancies in this room. I glance over to the bunkbeds then to my bed. I chuckle.
"Well, the room is occupied by one, but has the setting for three. My good man, your just in time to decide if you're interested in the top or bottom bunk. Sorry, but I've already claimed the single. Figured it was kind of like one of those - first come, first serve - type of deals. Second pic is almost as good, but I would steer clear of the bottom bunk. I'd be worried the top would break and then it'll be light's out, you know, man? Get on in here before someone else gets it." I give a sudden jerk with my head as a sign for him to make himself at home.
"So, have you met some of the other cadets yet? I just may go out and start searchign some of the rooms further down to see what I've got to work with. I'm Cadet Ruze, but since we're both at the same rank, you can stick to Jeran or whatever you prefer. You?"
