EDIT: What is this? o.o Ramble ramble ramble. Sorry, I didn't realize I'd gone on so long...
Name::
Aranica Petros
District::
Twelve (female)
Skills::
Aranica is, first and foremost, a people person. It's not a persona, either; unlike some people, who pretend to get along with others to get closer to what they want, Ara really does care about and love those she meets. (Actually, she might care about them a bit too much, seeing as they tend to run away from her, but hey- she has good intentions.) This makes her very good at forming bonds and making friends quickly, even with many different types of people, which is a definite advantage in the realm of alliances; not only will she make them, those she allies with will probably be less inclined to betray her, if nothing else because it makes you feel somehow less than human. (Honestly, she's like a toddler.)
Despite her innocence, which many people mistake for foolishness, Ara is very intelligent. Moreover, her bizarre habits and tendencies often cause her to come at situations from a slightly different angle than most people, which has can lead to her solutions that are just out of reach from others. She's also extremely perceptive to weather, because she spends so much time watching out for clouds; she's gotten quite good at predicting rain, which will help her and any allies figure out when cover is needed.
One thing that really makes Ara shine, though, is anything to do with rocks. She seems to have an affinity for them that makes them behave. in reality, she has no such thing (though she thinks she does), it's simply that she's comfortable with them and knows how to work with them better than most people. Her "friendship" with rocks has taught her to handle what would otherwise be much more treacherous terrain, as well as given her an ability to find breaks and seams in rocks that help her carve them, use flint for sparks more effectively, and a number of other useful things.
Description of Tribute::
Physically, Aranica is pretty normal. She's almost entirely average- average build, neither tall nor short for her age, plain brown eyes, pale but tanned skin. The one thing that sets her appart is her hair, which hasn't really been cut in years and so comes down almost to her knees when it's loose. She does look a bit younger than she is, simply because of the way her cheekbones are set, but that's nothing extraordinary- many people don't look exactly their age.
Her actions are a little weirder. She's really clumsy, unfortuantely (though it should be noted that the more uneven the ground gets, the surer-footed she becomes), but that can be trained out of her. She's also almost always talking to someone or something; luckily, she has a nice voice, but more than once she's used it until she croaks because she's tried to converse with every particle of air around her.
Personality-wise, Ara will admit it before anyone else that she's a little bit off-beat. Most people don't think of rocks as their best friends, or see clouds as deadly enemies, or try to say hello to every droplet of mist, or run screaming as soon as they realize that they're out in the open, or... well, you get the picture.
That said? As described above, those idiosyncrasies give her an edge just as often as they bring her down. Despite her strangeness, she's a good person, and a clever one. She puts her heart into everything,
Other Persuasions::
She won't do so well with the fighting, but when it comes to plain survival, Ara's good. Give her a cave, and she can hide out for ages without being found. She's a vegetarian who's seen a lot of hungry nights, so not only is she okay if she doesn't have the opportunity to hunt, she can go without food for a bit. And because she attaches so much importance to inanimate objects, she's a fantastic navigator.
On top of everything else, Aranica is one of the most kind-hearted individuals anyone will ever meet. She's fully willing to lay down her life for one of the other Games members. In fact, she expects to; she thinks she has no chance of making it out, but she still denied even the chance of volunteers because she couldn't stand someone going in her place. She's the type of person whose death would be not just a shame, but a loss to her District.
She'll need help to get through even the first day. I know it, she knows it. But I think that training will help, as well a dose of reality, and I fully believe that she'll prove to be a valuable asset to any team she's on, even if she'll never really be the backbone.
