Kirrily {kb} Blair
Pandora tried, at least. Kirrily's mind was outside when her father began to yell at her sister. Only when she watched their father swing at Zephyr did she bring herself down to the basement. The sound of fist against face, and the thump of Zephyr falling to the floor caused her to flinch - hard. Father was going to go into a rage if they didn't stop soon. Kirrily was torn over whether she wanted her siblings to keep standing up to him or if she wanted them to back down before he went nuts on them all.
It seemed like Father was going to strike again, but Cadmus soon jumped into action. Kirrily watched their father's face grow redder. Then, Cadmus spoke. "They aren't like me and you. For that I am willing to die." More things were said - things clouded by a loud pounding in her head and an ache in her stomach. She might act as mature as she could, but when her family went at each other it still scared her. She would have stood up and run away had her feet not suddenly felt encased in cement.
Cadmus had given their father a sword. He was asking him to fight him. Cadmus was only a year older than her, and she couldn't imagine him being stronger than a grown man. A man with more training, more physical maturity and - frankly, he was probably smarter than Cadmus if he was willing to challenge our father. It seemed like a lost fight already, unless someone stepped in, which was exactly what Cadmus was telling us not to do.
At the moment he said that she began to stand up. She wanted to do it without Zephyr and Pandora seeing her. When she was fully standing up, Cadmus was rearing towards their father. Go ahead and guess who got the immediate advantage. That prompted Kirrily to move faster. No, she wasn't going to put herself between the two - she wasn't that brave, or stupid, or whatever. She bolted the three meters to Zephyr and spoke to him for the first time directly in probably a year and a half.
"Stop them. He'll kill him."
