Just like that the joyous energy from sharing a win is gone. Why is Gala always so good at saying the wrong thing when she didn't mean to? The Jins topic alone seemed to bring a bad mist about, and she could only assume that it's because killing isn't as easy as everyone makes it out to be. Even ridding of an evil being has to be difficult, it's an irreversible thing. There's a heart in Matthew, the little Blonde's certain of that, even if he isn't. Her lips stay pressed together when he neglects that she has any sort of understanding. Maybe that's true, or maybe she just understands too well.
He reassures her that protecting the ones he cares about, pulling that trigger and ending a life, was as easy as anything else. Gala doesn't believe him, which is exactly why she still remains silent. Well until he gets slightly rude and claims she was talking to him as if he were weak. Instantly her eyebrows arch inward with frustration. This boy can be as complicated as the girls he despises. "I wasn't." She protests with an anger-filled voice. "I was trying to help, but obviously you're just dandy." She rolls her eyes, ready to leave but wanting to prevent another encounter where they left on a bad note. What's up with them and always doing that?
Minutes before this she was gloating over how amazing he was with his bad arm, and now he's thinking she's belittling him? LIke that's even plausible with the physical circumstance she's in. But he's right on one thing, she doesn't understand. Sure killing may be the only way to wins the games, she didn't become a career to volunteer though. She has double the amount of names with Gwen in there, since she'd never let her twin sister get reaped, and that's the only reason why she wants to be prepared. For the exception of Jins's murder, killing's disgusting to her.
"Aw would you miss me if I died in the games?" Of course her sarcasm and jokes have to arise, her way of dealing with the argument she'd rather not have. "Better hope I don't get chosen." She grins with a slight shake of her head. Okay, perhaps she shouldn't go full smart ass just yet. "I'm glad you killed him." She does her best to be sincere. "We can all finally live without fear. Just seems like a hard job. Maybe you're right though, us girls are different." It taste nasty to put herself in the girl category, but she's willing to say anything to erase the bad tension.
