Could I possibly be any more uncomfortable while holding my own daughter? Who knows. I simply don't know how to react to my sister showing up at my girl friends doorstep. How did she even know where to find me? It had to be my dad, who told her.
Kyanite takes Mira from me and I can't say that's a bad idea. Why would I let Trinity see Mira if she never let me see her son?
"Here. Let me take Mira so you can talk to your sister."
"Okay." I nod to her and then turn my gaze onto the red head again.
"You don't have to leave us. I came to see both, well, all three of you. If that's okay?" Her tone is much kinder than any time I can remember talking to her.
I'm glad that Ky does all the talking for now because I'm at a loss of words.
"... I think you and Matthew need to visit first before Mira is ready. Matthew, I'll be right back. She's wet."
With that she leaves me and my sister alone at the doorstep. I just stand there because I don't want to invite her in. The moment between us becomes uneasy so she's trying to lighten the mood.
"She's pretty, Matthew. When was she born?"
I just take a deep breath and nod. "Three days ago. We just brought her home." Home- well, Kyanites home.
My expression becomes stern when I focus on her.
"Who told you where I am? Dad? Are you talking to him again?" There's a lot of bad vibe w´swinging in those words. A lot of accusation because she cut all ties to me and my father breaking both of our hearts even if we'd never admit it. The way I behave around women is partly to blame on her. That's what I conjured up.
"Why did you come, Trinity?" My brow is wrinkled but my tone as soft as I manage. I don't want her to feel that she needs to leave right away.
I take in her features. She's also gotten older. her face looks more mature, so does her apparel.
