what you seeStanding at a fairly average 5' 11'', Alphonse weighs in at around 163 pounds. He's not particularly massive like most careers, but the muscles he does have are toned and tough. Swimming is a big part of his exercise routine and so his shoulders and back are the location of most of that musculature. His skin is fair and only has a vague tan stretching across from it. It's smooth and free of most impurities, having avoided the pimply stages of puberty. He stands with a fairly decent posture, making him look a little more physically imposing than he would otherwise.
His hair is a dirty blonde and is cut short, hanging messily most of the time. He doesn't put much care or effort in styling it, instead just running a hand through it and leaving it as it sits. Facial hair grows along his jawline too and he seems to have constant stubble, never letting it grow too long but enjoying the maturity it brings to his face. Blueish grey eyes peek out through the sockets; brighter flecks of blue dot the grey landscape and bring lightness to it. Slight bags exist beneath them, primarily as his inspiration comes about at night and he foregoes sleep to ensure that he gets money to live.
His head is rigid and seemingly squared, his jawline being no exception. It all meets to a rounded chin in straight lines, most of his baby fat having entirely left from his face. His ears are large and stick out from the sides of his head as they are supposed to, proportional to the thickness of the rest of his head. His nose is thin, slightly in the shape of a lightning bolt because of having broken it when he was young. Thin lips are tightly pressed together, giving away next to none of his true feelings as he observes the world around him. His teeth are an off white, neither perfect nor a mess.
Alfie's chest is larger, his shoulders broad and muscled. He looks a lot larger because of this, his back appearing very toned in most of the shirts he wears. Thinner arms stretch out from his shoulders, ending off in large and rough hands. They are often covered in dried paint and so he tends to wear gloves when selling his work to buyers, finding it too obvious if his hands are covered in the colours of the rainbow. His legs are thicker and compromise most of his height, often used in his running and swimming and are toned for that reason. His feet, too, are rough and large with higher arches.
He wears a lot of fairly regular clothes, like tight fitting t-shirts and denim pants. Most of his outfits are layered; he'll wear lots of jackets when it's not too hot to do so. Even on those nicer days he can be found in shorts, a t-shirt, and a button up. He has clothes he wears specifically when painting so as to avoid having stains on all of the things he wears as he moves throughout the District to sell his forgeries. He wears a lot of heavier work boots on his feet, varying in different colours. Because of the nature of his business, he tends to have a lot of money that he spends rather quickly; usually on things like clothes and food. Whilst making forgeries, he wears a set of glasses that provide magnification to best accomplish his job.
what you areAlfie gets through his days with money attained from being a con-artist. There is no end to what he'd do to con his marks; his preference is with convincing forgeries, but he hasn't ever turned down an opportunity to try out other kinds of cons. Money isn't even the biggest interest of his in the long run of his job, instead enjoying the sort of power that it gives to him as he manipulates people to do as he wishes. His father is to blame for the man he became, forcing him to become hardened and worry solely about himself.
Alphonse is definitely a massive liar. It's hard to tell if he's telling the truth, ever, and so most of what he's saying should be taken with a grain of salt. That is, if he wasn't so convincing with the stories he tells and the webs of lies he weaves. It works incredibly well with his job as he can construct stories with words, managing to portray characters so incredibly well. If he had any sort of interest in a career that wasn't illegal, he would be a fantastic actor because of his ability to not care about the lies he may have to tell. It's effortless to him, and sometimes grows confusing as he begins to forget what is true. When you live a lie, you start to become a lie.
He's negative most of the time, seeing the world as nothing but potential suckers to feed into his desires and needs. There has yet to be a prospective part of his life, having only seen darkness and rock bottom. Most would say he was heartless if they truly knew him, showing no empathy for anybody whose lives he ruins. He's careless in who he hurts; to him, it doesn't really matter what his actions may do. This has gotten him into a fight or two, but he often times wins those because of the brutality he puts into it. Why should he hold back?
Knowing he is a monster, Alphonse Brunt accepts that he isn't a good person and knows he probably never could. He doesn't give people a chance to make him better, not enjoying the charity some think they should offer. It's pretty clear to the few that he lets truly see him that he isn't happy, but he has next to no motivation to fix that. He's cold blooded and doesn't care; in fact, he wouldn't even hesitate to kill somebody if he knew he could get away it. Luckily for him, he just sticks to his forgeries and con-life, having yet to step over that line and venture into being a completely horrible person. He'll settle with being semi-horrible.
His love for art is the biggest factor in his choice to forge paintings. Sketching and painting is something he loves to do at all times of the day, and his brain sees everything the way an artist would: as potential drawings he could make. Because of the bad-boy character he always portrays, most wouldn't believe that he's so fond of art and the way he can put his thoughts onto paper so easily. He would gladly paint for the rest of his life, but because of the fact that he lives in District Four, he accepts that he'd never make it big. As a result, he secured contacts within the Justice Building to branch out through the Districts and the Capitol as a network for selling his paintings and forgeries.
what you rememberHe was born on the seventeenth of February into the colder world of winter to a horrible father and an absent mother, growing up almost entirely on his own. His father was extremely abusive, having started when Alphonse became old enough to truly comprehend what was going on. His mother had checked out, seemingly giving up on raising her child in the terrible world she lived in. She had faced the abuse of her husband for far too long, perhaps enjoying the break from it as Alphonse grew up in the strict conditions. He began to expect his efforts to not be appreciated, knowing that anything he would do wasn't good enough for his father to care for him and for his mother to pay attention to him.
His mother was checked into the hospital when she grew worse and worse. The doctors had said it was dementia, but Alfie was too young to understand exactly what was going on. He lived solely with his father, staying out late through the nights until he knew he could return home after his dad fell asleep. On one of those nights, he returned to see a drunken figure upon the couch. He was lying on his back, something that Alphonse knew was dangerous after having spent a night drinking himself into oblivion. And yet he just retreated to his bedroom, closing and locking his door tightly. He slept soundly that night, but when he awoke, his father had died during the night.
He grew up in the orphanage, but never really enjoyed the confining walls of the building. He'd spend a lot of his days out on the streets, getting into the bad part of life rather quickly. Soon after his father's death, he was selling different sorts of drugs to the younger citizens for a tweaked out old man that sat near the docks; he'd share most of his profits with him and then pocket the rest for food and entertainment. Within only a few months, he became more and more prominent in the night life. By the time he was 14, he was fully involved in the gangs that worked the streets. It was also around this time that he realized his love for art and his ability to recreate nearly anything with ease.
He slowly stepped back from the violence and the darker side of the streets and transitioned into the art of being a con-man. He maintained his contacts, becoming more of a silent contributor to the illegal lifestyle. He purchased a small home in the poorer part of the District, spending most of his days and nights within the walls to work hard and keep up with the demand. Enjoying the silence for a while, he got his name out there as one of the better forgers throughout the Districts. His con-artistry career began to grow from there as he worked on different ways to manipulate people.
Invited to the Black mansion, Alphonse is one of the contenders for the wealth of Lancelot Black.
