The corners of Leo's smile drooped and his eyebrows creased together, as he watched his dates reaction to his compliment. She seemed almost a little upset about what he had said, and she sat in apparent contemplation for a long moment afterward. Leo racked his brain in attempts to understand this new development. He hadn't said anything unpleasant in his mind, so why was she less than enthused?
Silence fell heavily as he awaited her answer while the other patrons of the restaurant drew his attention. People were still glancing at them more frequently than what he was sure was natural. It wasn't hard to understand why they constantly attracted glances or even stares. He started to wonder, halfheartedly, what it would take to draw more than eyes in their direction and his skin started to itched for a bar fight. His hands twitched ever so slightly, as he imagined them balled into fists flying towards the flesh of another being. Leo loved getting into fights for it offered danger, thrill, and a sense of accomplishment that he rarely felt. His habit for frequently winning these fights only served to entice him more.
Erinyes moved closer to him and he snapped out his revery, leaning closer to drink in her words. He expected a confession to leak from her lips and fill the small space between them, but she spoke of her brother and a plot for revenge instead. He drew back for a moment in surprise and laughed at her words.
"Revenge?" He repeated back while still chuckling. "That sounds interesting, especially coming from such a sweet person. What did you have in mind?" His ideas for revenge were usually littered with blood and blackmail, but somehow he couldn't image his date plotting those sorts of acts against her brother. However, he couldn't image any sort of revenge plot without those menacing items.
"We are so sorry," a waitress appeared, speaking in a soft voice at the foot of their table with a notebook. "Have you been helped? Apparently, we had a mix up with the waiters and I'm afraid this table might have been missed."
"We were missed." Leo took his time to look up at their server, but when he finally did he found himself rather pleased with the girl he was looking at, for she was rather pretty. She wasn't as pretty as the gorgeous girl sitting across from him, but she was pretty enough that it might incite a reaction from his date, Leo thought as his mouth pulled back into a slightly vindictive smile.
"It's quite alright, but, as we have been waiting a while, could you please get us a bottle of your finest champagne as quickly as possible?" He spoke politely, but with an air of cold authority, and he was pleased to see her scurry off obediently. "I'm sorry," he said pulling his eyes away from her retreating body, "you were telling me about a genius plot for revenge?"
