Morrisen & Co. Plot

The Morrisen’s had always been a family that was known for tenacity. A long lasting lineage that had been enthralled with the thrill of the games and what they meant for the people of Four. Of course, the career program had not be around forever in Four, but the moment the Morrisen’s had gotten word about the starting of one, they put their kids up to the test.

It all started with a wish. A hope that one day the Morrisen name would be on the minds of everyone in the district. Their great grandfather had been a lucrative fisherman, but even Annie’s father would have called him a laughable man after that. He taught him the tricks of the trade, and then his father took the reins, finding ways to make money in more devious ways.

The guise was always the fishing business though, and of course, Annie’s father wasted no time having multiple children. His goal was to build and empire that would monopolize Four in a way that they had their hands in a little bit of everything. Start from within and then work their way out. That is what all his children were taught.

Three children later, and they still only scratched the surface.

Allister Morrisen: Oldest Brother/Head of the family now/The most political of the three.

A true schmoozer if you had ever met one. His father had made sure to teach Allister everything there was to know about people. Through and through. From how to speak to them in kind words, to how to stab them in the back when they weren’t looking. He never dealt with being mainstream in the political scene, mostly because he didn’t want to bring too much attention to himself, but he knew the right people, and those people always found ways to get Allister’s words heard. He was always a kind soul to their face, but they didn’t see the cracks as they blatantly chipped off.

Anton Morrisen

Daddies boy through and through. More of a behind the scenes type of person. Was enrolled in the career program at first but pulled out of it because Allister felt that he needed to have a child that he could rely on to take over one day. The less he was involved with the games, the better. His father made sure he was always up in his studies, current on most events, and always out and about around the district talking to any and everyone that could give him information. After all, information was powerful in the Morrisen household. His relationship with Annie could either be cordial or sour, but Ill let you decide that.

Annisa Morrisen

The actual Career of this family. She has a blood lust for the battlefield that most people envied when it was seen in action. She isn’t afraid of anything, a risk taker, cliff jumper, deep diver, all of the above. Nothing will stop this girl from doing whatever it takes to chase the thrill. However being the daughter of Allister also meant that she was trained well in the art of people. She could be as soft as a lily when needed, but if you provoked her, even in the slightest, she would think about every way she could kill you from the start of annoyance to the end of the conversation. Her relationship with Annie could be favorable, or jealousy could take over. Open to interoperation.

Axel Morrisen (Gender Negotiable)

The baby, and the last child of this branch of the family. He has been told many times that he was an accident, but he does not let that define him. The only problem is, the rest of his family defines him as such. He tries to overcome bits and pieces of this, but for the most part, he is always put down. They give him a lot of freedom to be honest, because they aren’t sure what his purpose really is supposed to be, and Allister himself even said that he finds having three children to be weird. He does spend a lot of time on the water, and for the most part, he helps out with the fishing business that his Aunt is in charge of. His relationship with Annie can also be favorable, to the point where she might offer him a room if he needs it.

Alice Morrisen-Mer: Second Oldest/Fishing Tycoon/Assumed to be Deceased

The most intense of the three siblings when it came to business dealings. She always had a way of getting what she wanted, and most of the time, no one saw it coming. She was rough around the edges, daring in most of her ventures when it came to expanding the empire, and even brilliant when it came to innovating it to the point where it ran itself. She met her demise with her husband when she didn’t predict her sailing trip would hit rough waters and her boat was cast along a very large rock. People assumed she perished, but bodies were never found…

Angel Mer
Age: 24

This boy is nothing but passionate about the water. He was always told that he was birthed in it, and learned to swim at a very young age. He was close with his parents, they trusted him for the most part to do what he wanted just as long as it never interfered with business. They tried to groom him to take over eventually, but he never showed an interest. He currently lives with Annie, and was taken in by her father when his sister met her “demise”. Treated poorly by him, he finally got the courage to leave when he met his now deceased boyfriend Dymas Nyx (78th). More to come here.

Addison Mer
Age: 17-18
Played by ✨ zozo.

This girl was groomed to take over the business as soon as her mother was ready to relinquish the reins of it. Once they realized that Angel had no interest, they poured everything they had into making sure that Addison would be ready with almost everything that she needed to know if a situation had ever risen. She is far too busy to focus on anything that has to do with the games, even though she is still reaping age herself. She has been told that she has a way with spears and tridents, but that was because her father wanted to make sure that she knew how to defend herself just in case. She’s cutthroat and unyielding in most cases, not afraid to fight someone on any grounds if she thinks she is right. She’s sharp and won’t let anyone come in on her territory without a fight, whether it be physical or mental. Her relationship with Annie is probably ambivalent? Business to run and what not.

Anarchy Mer
Age: 15 – 17

The youngest of the bunch was the one that was pushed into the career training at a young age. He is the silent type, stoic in most of his interaction. He is nothing like his name personality, but can leave destruction anywhere he goes. Hes quick witted and sharp tongued, but also still on the hope that his parents will turn up somewhere. He will be the first one to claim that his parents never treated him unfairly even though his other siblings would beg to differ. He helps out with the business when he can, but for the most part, dedicates a lot of time to just training and hoping for his chance to get into the games. Taken in by Annie’s father as well, and usually trains with Beatrice because they are close in (or the same) age.

Alabaster Morrisen: The Youngest/Ex Career turned Trainer/Father to a Victor.

And then we have this asshole. The cruelest and most hell bent on making sure to live up to his fathers vision of the Morrisen’s becoming a monopoly of Four. The youngest and usually the one that was always picked on as a child, he was pushed into career training as soon as it became a normal thing that was practiced in Four. Pushed both of his children into Career training because he knew his odds would be better if he had two training instead of one. Cruel in his ways of getting them to do what he wanted, so much so that he avoided getting his first wife treatment to give incentive to his daughters to see them. A little remorseful about the death of his first wife but quickly moved on to another who has a son, which was one of his other hopes and dreams before his firsts wife’s timely death.

The girl who is mostly known for just being the sister of Annie by most people at this point. Shes kind, but also very much over the whole Career training thing. When Annie turned seventeen, her father pushed more onto Beatrice, and at this point, she kind of just does it reluctantly. Im gonna leave this a little bare because I want Frankel to add more on here!

Christian Douglas-Morrisen
Age: 12 – 14

He was not born of Morrisen blood, but instead married into it. His mother was also a career, but never really pushed hard on the training because if Christian didn’t want to do it, then she wasn’t going to force him. That’s all changed now because of Annie’s Father. He is probably the hardest on him, and Christian knows that he should hate him for it, but he doesn’t. If anything he feels obliged to do it because his new father now has the son that he had always wanted. Seeing as his biological father had never really been present in his life, he too was looking for that paternal figure in his life, and much to Annie’s dismay, her father is that for him. He does help out a little bit with the fishing business in order to make a little side money. Will leave his relationship with Annie up in the air.

An OOC Aside:

So its finally time for me to go crazy, go wild… what’s new? If you don’t know who Anatalia Morrisen is… I don’t blame you? She’s irrelevant and trash tbh, but I also like writing her, so I guess there’s that. As discussed in her new bio revamp when I mentioned why I had resubbed the whole thing, I discussed that it was because I had been looking for a way to finally make a family plot for Annie.

Now of course, I am not doing this to pander, or just to have one, but because I have been looking for a way to deepen Annie’s story, then just having something simple like, “She hates her father, fuck him…” and so on and so forth. I wanted to add something for Annie to hold onto just as much as I hold onto her.

As you read into this, you might realize that there is layers here, and that is the intention. I don’t want something humdrum, and I want every character to have a unique relationship, or lack thereof in some cases, with Annie. Just because she is a victor, doesn’t mean that people like her, or have to like her. That’s just unrealistic tbh.

This is going to be an APPLICATION plot, I want to see what you guys create, and seeing what you guys do might help me add more down the line. I know right off the bat, I might be able to add one more sibling in the Mer family for example.

How do you envision this character?: 15. wallflower boy. the always keep your chin up type. he's got a heart too big for his body and a soul like summertime. naive, heartbreakingly honest, looks for validation everywhere and is kind of oblivious to the fact that his dad’s a slimeball. always asking too many questions and trying to find a home in the answers. just wants his family back. (even though his family was never really a family to begin with.) has never done anything wrong ever in his life. probably owns a scrapbook full of candids and a pet fish with a dumb name like anton.

Give me some plots?: idolizes annie and spends more time at her place than his own, secretly wishes she was his big sister instead of annisa oop. used to look up to anton and was basically his shadow, but eventually annoyed the shit out of him in that special little brother way, now there's just kind of an awkward admiration that gets him ignored. avoids annisa like the plague, is definitely wary of her and probably traumatized by everything she did to him as kids. maybe an apprentice relationship with addison since he knows that out of all his siblings, he won't be the taking up their dad's mantle and wants to find something else to call his own.

Which Character are you looking at?: Christian Douglas Morrisen
How do you envision this character?: For one, he's 13. For two, he prefers to be called Ian. Ian is caught somewhere between a boy and a man. He's only really had one father figure to look up to since his biological one was a deadbeat and left him high and dry so when this new one came around, he felt it necessary to try to keep him around by doing any and everything asked of him. Even though it's not ideal and he sees what his stepfather is doing is wrong, he don't want to be the cause of the marriage failure (Again -in his mind?).

His step father is manipulative toward him. Verbally, he seeks to train him harder than anyone by making sure he knows who his mother is married to and very often reminds him of this. "I married your mother; not you. You were just an attachment that I can easily be rid of." While his friends call him by his chosen name, he denies him the individuality he seeks. He only calls him by his given name.

Ian is talented, but lazy, at least until his stepfather is around. He perks up, forcing himself to train beyond his level hoping for praise and a way to earn his keep and goodwill.

His need to have his stepfather's acceptance has put a rift between Annie and himself. While, they are civil enough around the house, it's not a means to be civil when it comes to his competitiveness. Watching Annie win the games has forced him to see how his stepfather treats her and now uses that to further himself to become what she is, but better. Does he let that show? Definitely not. He may be a lazy at times, but he's not stupid and uses the manipulative tactics that his stepfather uses against him, and uses it against others.


Give me some plots?:Maybe some odd bonding moments with Annie complete with father bashing after hard sessions with his (step?)father. Lots of snooping and prying stepfather's attention.

How do you envision this character?: She was always good with a spear and even better with a trident - up until her mother died. After that day there was something morbid about wielding a weapon meant to kill in the water, half afraid she'd hoist up her mother's dead body in the place of fish or crab. So when the opportunity arose to take Angel's place as the head of the family she didn't think twice about casting the trident aside, letting it clatter to the floor without a care in the world. Now she wields knowledge and pens, drinking in everything there was to know about the Morrisen-Mer business and lineage, holding her breath every time Annie's name graced the headlines of news. Annie would be forgiven, of course, no matter what she did. But the blame would soon be in Addison's hands. And that, she is realising, is something she can never forget.

Give me some plots?: She could beef with the other cousins about Annie's dad - I think Addison would understand that he was stern but feel different, or perhaps almost sympathise, about why he is that way. She's starting to learn what keeping a family name safe requires and the lengths she will have to go to in order to keep it alive and is almost blinded by the prospect. Perhaps the family start to worry she's teetering towards "the dark side" and try to reel her back in?

How do you envision this character?: this boy is a narc. he's the type of person to judge his siblings' actions and report back if they're not ~in line~, even though he's done some questionable things himself. he definitely thinks he's more sharp-witted than he actually is, but he's got some bite to him. aside from what he does for the family, he probably monitors the district happenings for his own purposes. i imagine he'd have a sour relationship with annie just because he's so close to his own father and thinks family loyalty is the most important thing (even though whats-his-face did not do that *cough cough*)

After mulling it around, I have decided to add TWO more branches to this family, because I like drama, and honestly, why not? The more the merrier is what I say! These two are going to be kids from the grandfathers first affair that turned into his second wife because honestly, why not have all the men in this family just be flaming dumpster fire!

Alexa Morrisen:  First Oldest/Chef Extraordinaire

She is probably the kindest out of the five siblings. At least, that is how she acts to your face. She has a way with knives that could probably rival Annie if you pissed her off enough. If she doesn’t like you, she will tell you. Shes hot blooded for the most part, but tries really hard to hide it in front of her children. Of course, they work in her restaurant, so they have seen her at her very worst. She is known for a wicked aim, and her way with cooking fish that simply melts in your mouth. But don’t be fooled, she wouldn’t think twice about throwing in something that doesn’t belong into your food. In general: this family has a pretty good relationship with Annie. They are at least cordial/inviting to her.

Arthur Morrisen:
Age: 17
Career/Waiter

A soft spoken boy that can flip his personality in the drop of a hat. Doesn’t have much to lose, at least, that is what he says. In career training on the behest of his father, but his mother also requires his help in the restaurant to help wait tables. He doesn’t mind it too much, and when he leaves the restaurant, he goes from a sweet boy to a bit of an egomaniac. He isn’t afraid of making the world all about him, and also, isn’t too bothered if he does not get reaped to go into the games. He pays close attention to what his mother does and thinks that he could take the family business from her when she is ready to retire.  

Ariana Morrisen:
Age: 16

She has just as much attitude as her mother, and honestly, this is the main point of contention between them. She is full of fire and isn’t afraid to say when she feels like she is being wronged. Shes kind of the protégé to her mother and idolizes her sometimes. Talented with a knife, but if she ever got into a fight, she would be afraid of using it. She overall is a fireball, but can be soft when the situation calls for it. She really doesn’t like her older brother because she really thinks she is going to be able to take the family business over. Shed even be willing to kill for it.

Arsene Morrisen:
Age: 14-15
Career

The one that was told that he has to take career training seriously. He doesn’t spend too much time in the restaurant because his father makes sure that he is busy with running drills and studying up on the games. He helps out when he can, and usually has a relaxed approach to training. He is definitely Axel’s rival in many ways, but also, they are very close. He likes to mess around with swords the most, and can even use one to fillet a fish without even looking. Alexa isn’t a huge fan of this, because of the dangers, but she knew that she had to have one kid that was all in on the career training to appease her father, so she lets it slide. Definitely another one that idolizes Annie, much to her dismay.

Aristotle Morrisen: Youngest Adult Male/Academy Trainer by day/Club Owner by Night

Pretentious doesn’t even begin to describe this one. Was a hardcore career until he started a family at a young age. Before his eighteenth birthday to be exact. It did not help with his attitude, but it did teach him that he needed to be a little bit more responsible. He decided to open up a club house one day and it does well. His wife runs the morning portion of the club, which is mostly just a place to hang out and enjoy a nice beverage and light food amongst the sea, and then at night, its more of a social place that can get a little rowdy. He doesn’t want his children helping with this one. This family general can have mixed views on Annie. Aristotle isn’t a fan, but that is because he wanted one of his children to win the games first. He hates Alabastor almost as much as Annie does. 

Aris Morrisen

Well versed in the art of deception, she took an interest in camouflage at a young age. She loved hiding in the sand and scaring the living crap out of her siblings. When applied in the academy, she has a way with getting the upper hand on opponents by psyching them out. She definitely acts tough, but when she is not training, she likes to just sit by the beach and enjoy a nice book. She is quiet, mostly by choice, but that is because she is always thinking, always calculating. She is actually quite impressed with the way Annie won her games, even though she did get a mulligan technically.

Ada Morrisen
Age: 16

Stubborn. To the tea. Let me tell you. She will fight with you about anything, and she has a way with words that would rival the most eloquent. She knows well that she can damage anyone and everyone with her tongue, and loves to go toe to toe with Anton in debates. She is skilled with hand to hand fighting, but can pick up almost any weapon and wield it with ease.  She is not like her twin, who she thinks can be a little bit of a pest when they aren’t focused on their training. She takes her training very seriously, and she shares a small amount of hatred for Annie, but because she really thought she was gonna be reaped before her and win. 

Adam Morrisen
Age: 16

The younger of the two, but also the more creative and carefree twin. He knows when to amplify his intenseness, but doesn’t like to do so because he wanted to just have fun. The jokester of most classes, he actively seeks out opportunities to deflate tense situations. Thinks that his twin needs to get the stick out of her ass, but knows not to cross her when she is mad. Thinks a lot of the people in this family are just too uptight. Isnt too fussed with getting reaped if he is being honest, as he thinks he has a future in running the club once he is out of the reaping. Relationship with Annie is up to the writer!

How do you envision this character?: Life is a balancing act for this one. From stacks of plates in one palm to a spear standing straight up in the other, to a book or two on the top of his head, Arthur likes to have a lot to tend to. It keeps him occupied in a world of constant tension and anxiety, but it also feeds his desire for recognition. Even the quickest glimpse of a compliment or sign of approval keeps him going. I suppose he thinks in the long term. Arthur acknowledges that the brightest of stars are also the ones who burn the fastest, so he prefers to be methodical and patient in order to achieve his moment in the spotlight.

How do you envision this character?: Christian's birth-father left when he found out that his mother was pregnant with him. His mom has always blamed him for his father leaving. She doesn't say as much, but he knows. It's gotten better since she moved on and married Alabaster. But Christian grew up with a deep feeling of not really being wanted. He'd never have admitted it, but he was desperate to feel like someone loved him and wanted him around. He gets that from his step-father. Well, maybe not a feeling of being loved, but of being wanted. And that's basically the same thing, right? So Christian does everything he can to please his dad. He doesn't even mind when he's pushed so far he gets hurt. He just wants to make his dad happy and proud. So he spends almost all his time training, without complaint.

Christian acts cocky but inside he's deeply insecure. He's the type of person who compensates for that insecurity by tearing other people down to build himself up. He's sassy and can be mean and even cruel. He is incredibly competitive and hates losing.

Jealous of her victory in the games, and angry about how she treated their father after, Christian doesn't really get along with his older sister. Plus, even before the games, he's kind of felt like an outsider around her and Beatrice. Their close relationship always reminds him that he wasn't there when they were growing up and he's just the step-kid and he hates that.
Give me some plots?: I can see him getting into fights with Annie about their dad. Or maybe if his father pushed him too far and he got seriously hurt? That might cause him to re-evaluate things which could be interesting.

How do you envision this character?: Aris hopes that she can make it to the Hunger Games and become famous. She gets into fights with bullies and then she'll go hang out on the beach with a good book and forget about what happened earlier that day.
Give me some plots?: (Told from eyes of the character)
I know this is my last chance. I'm 18, so once I turn 19 I can't be in the Hunger Games and Reaping. So then I'll get the fun of training my entire life for nothing and then watching the younger kids get picked and then either winning and having wonderful glory or watching them get ripped apart by mutts and/or killed by vicious tributes. Then having kids and having them enjoy that fun that their mother missed out on. And then my kids will worship their victor relative and forget about their boring mother. But maybe I'll get picked. Maybe the odds will be entirely in my favor, and then at least even if I don't make it back home, I'll still be famous.
