”There has been a lot of community spirit in the District lately. Working together to bring joy to one and other during the Ratmas market and working together to help rebuild after the devastating terrorist attack in one of our very own factories. No matter what happens, the community comes together to work on something. It is what we should admire about each other. No matter what happens to this District, we are always going to be there for each other. As neighbours. As families. As friends. We are all District Eight!
Community is going to be my number one focus during this election and will continue to be my focus if you vote me back in. The introduction of the working travel permit has opened a lot of opportunities for our District and I have been in talks with our neighbouring Districts about working together, offering better trade deals and opportunities for citizens to travel and work. Now we all love the walls of Eight, but do you want to experience what life is like outside of here? How life in District Seven and Eleven is compared to here? It is an opportunity to learn from one and other. To grow with each other.
Again, families are important to each of us and therefore I will implement more support to those with children in their household. There will be more opportunities for children to be schooled properly and be ready for the working life. Benefits such as the clothes donation scheme for growing children will be introduced. Of course, we have an abundance of clothes available within the District but I want to help those who struggle by simply swapping clothes too small for their children, for the size that fits!
I know many of you do not have families, no matter the reason you are not forgotten in my bill. The infrastructure of existing orphanages will be updated, new policies on the treatment of children within these orphanages will change for the better. Meaning that regulators will regularly inspect them to ensure they are to a high standard. Those who are alone and wish to seek the company of others will be welcome to weekly social groups that I will be running in the justice building. From the current popular tribute talk session for those who have lost friends and family to the Hunger Games and a new working factory club, which will offer a time for those working hard in our factory to unwind and socialise.
These are not promises that I list to you today. These are things that WILL happen if you vote for me to be your mayor for another term. I will not let this District down; I have seen it grow over the past decade. Let us work together to see it expand to be the greatest it will ever be! “
