Furnace Creek

The lowest lying portion of the arena is furnace creek. Contrary to its name, there's no creek here. There's no water at all. Instead what may look like a glossy mirrored lake from afar is really just a depression in the sand, creating an oven-like effect. Regularly 125F during the days, the heat here is oppressive. Unrelenting. It will steal every drop of sweat, spit and blood. There's no shade and the ground feels as though its made of concrete rather than sand. No human can stand to remain here for long but if you're truly brave (and honestly, a bit stupid) there might be some treasure hidden behind the mirage. (Kay)
