Cloud Spire

The Cloud Spire looms over the open field around it like a monument, though what it might be a monument to is hard to say. A massive tower too tall to look natural and too ragged to look intentional, it less invites you and more dares you to ascend the rough but visible path spiraling around its edges. Crane your neck upward at the base, and you can see hints of what awaits you: trees clinging to the side of the spire for dear life, birds taking wing or returning home to roost, an occasional glint of eyes as climbing creatures peer at you before skittering away. But all vanishes, eventually, into a dense and preternaturally still mass of clouds. The only way to learn what waits at the top is to chase it down yourself. ~ WT
