" i was painting a picture
the picture was a painting of you and
for a moment I thought you were here
but then again, it wasn't true, down "
There's something cathartic about cutting a wardrobe down. Clean your space, clean your mind, Delilah always appreciates it because she comes out appreciating all new clothes. The Headmaster's already been at work since dawn, joining each of the Harvard kids as they woke up to get them started on laundry day. She adorns a sun-dress she never took the tag off of and a big floppy hat she never has an excuse to wear, her favorite stockings that she thought she lost and two dangly earrings that she thought she'd never find again.
A pile in the corner of the sunroom has already begun amassing as Delilah tosses out what doesn't fit her, what she doesn't like, what has to go. This pile is usually the least touched each year; sometimes a dress or two will get picked up, some graphic tee's swiped that'll get turned into pajama dresses. The pleasant surprise each year is seeing who ends up taking what - last year, Thompson walked away with a pair of flip flops she didn't even know he could fit into.
10 am rolls around and alarm clocks start blaring, anybody who isn't already up better count their minutes. Delilah's coming, headmaster on a mission, "better not sleep in too long, the day's only so long!" And, "another 5?! Good luck matching your whites in the middle of the night, because I'm not doing it."
Oh, someone dropped a sock. Who knows where the match even is.
sup harvardinators! new year, new wardrobe; it's time to reduce, re-use and recycle all the clothes in the harvard house. first year's laundry day is a whole occasion in this house, with all 15 members and the headmaster herself taking part. washbins and clothes lines are already prepped and in use in the backyard, and the sunroom is collecting piles of hand-me downs by and for the kids of the house. whoever has the remote flicks the t.v. back and forth between the Tri-district Tournament & Panem's Got Talent
here's a dice roll of strange things to find by checking pockets!
1. lose change, pay day!
2. a mostly smoked blunt
3. old movie theater ticket
4. trash? ugh.
5. a spare key, uh oh
6. a ball point pen that would have gotten ruined in the wash
7. what the- a sock?!
8. a baffron bowe lighter
9. pair of shades, nice
10. ratmas-exclusive lipgloss! taste like holiday spirit
