I hope this letter finds you well.
I think I'm not very good at secrets, so I try not to keep too many – My name is Ganymede, I'm fifteen this year, and I live in District Nine. I'm happy to write to you; I've always wanted to learn more about life in the other districts.
There's not a lot in District Nine. Things were different a long time ago, long before I was born, when we used to live in the forests and tend to the land. Is it possible to miss something I've never known? I don't know if I've ever liked it here, just got used to it eventually.
Spring is my favourite season, when there's flowers and bumblebees in the outskirts of the district, far away from all the factories. Sometimes I like to keep a part of the warmer seasons with me, collecting bundles for tea and medicines, and I like to have something to do in the winter when I'm not tending to my gardens. I made you a mix of my favourite blooms for drinking and some flavoured sugar cubes!
