I knew what Vierra thought of me. I was weak, I was useless. But I knew that she was wrong. I could do sacrifices, I could defend myself against outsiders. If I was weak I wouldn't be here. I struggled sometimes due to my vision, but I wasn't useless. I knew it wasn't worth the argument though. She was so certain of her correctness it would also cause more unnecessary bad blood between the two of us. So I just tried to avoid her, even though I still loved her as family. But now? I needed her.
I was trying to do a ritual. I was getting everything set up for it. And that's when it happened. I knocked over a lit candle. Instantly I panicked as I watched the orange spread. I tried to put it out. At first it seemed controllable. But earlier I ended up cutting my hand, no big deal. Except for the little bit of rubbing alcohol I had spilled earlier. As soon as the flame hit that, it was over for me. It was slow spreading, but too big for me to try to put out on my own.
"HELP! HELP!"
I tried to think of who was here, who could help me. I know not long ago I passed Vierra, she was here and it was spreading slow enough I could grab her. I quickly ran towards her room, stumbling a bit and nearly falling. I didn't bring anything to help with mobility, so my vision moving was really starting to get to me. But I made it to her door, and I started pounding on it. I didn't know when I started crying, but by the time I got there my face was wet.
"VIERRA! VIERRA HELP ME! THERE'S A FIRE! THERE'S A FIRE! FUCKING HELP!"
