No one in the family thinks their problems are the ones that matter, and that's sort of always been the issue with us Bardot's. None of us is going anywhere; we all love each other, refuse to give up on Nine or the life that we have here. Doesn't matter that my siblings could all find better lives somewhere else in the country now that the borders have opened. I bet if Ezra moved to One right now, he'd be able to work his way up the ladder and end up on all of our television screens. He sticks to teaching theater to geeks at the same school I work at instead, and I try not to let it feel like something catching in my chest when I think about how he took the job to be closer to me. Closer to Silas and me. Crazy how of all the things in my life, becoming a mother was what most made me feel like a youngest sibling. After Dante walked out on me, which we can all agree with hindsight was what was best for everyone involved, they all flocked to me like birds back to the nest. I moved back in with Mom and Dad, me and Silas living in the upstairs bedrooms my siblings called theirs once upon a time. That was an ego hit and a half, but they've been such a huge help. Raising him while trying to keep up my work load was hard; in comes big brother, a shoulder to lay my head on when things start to feel like they're moving faster than I can handle. We commiserate over difficult children at school, and laugh over glasses of bourbon at the end of the day, because he lives two houses down and it's easy to stop by.  It's like that with all of us. We're all here. We're all right here. I'm not going anywhere, but I kind of feel like that's their problem. I'm not really sure what to do now that I'm realizing that.
