It hurts to breathe - like wildfire swimming in your lungs, bright and blazing. You haven't ran this far in you don't know how long, since you were a child, you guess. Tearing down the streets of Twelve with Arwen in front of you, you could never keep up. He made sure you knew that, rubbed it in like salt in a wound.

You inch closer to the edge of the rocks, burying your face into stream, allowing the water run away with your thoughts. It's gentle, calming, your heartbeats slows and levels to a natural rhythm. You break away from the water, droplets pooling on your cheeks and at the tip of your nose, dropping back into the stream. And you breathe, normally for the first time in the past, rapidly-paced minutes that have felt like hours to you. It's like being born for the first time, your eyes opening gently, beads of water dropping from your eyelashes, your mouth slightly agape, breathe hot on your lips.
