There was a moment of clarity as her blade sank into Elm, and Niko's voice faded into the background. A cannon confirmed it - she was alone again. She couldn't decide if the fog had consumed niko, or if he had fled like a coward, but either way she could take the rest that she deserved and loot Elm for everything they were worth.
She had three kills under her belt and hadn't blinked twice. Volunteering only to weep and moan about 'trauma' was pathetic - one should sign up knowing exactly what they're in for, and she had done just that. She had no qualms about getting rid of people. If they squirmed and died slowly, oh well, that was their own fault. Niko could whine about it all he wanted. All Ivy had to do was sit still and make it easier.
Her only concern now was the fog. She could tell based on the swell of wind in that she had reached a higher altitude on the mountain, which meant she had to watch her step. Falling off of the edge was a death sentence, as was triggering any sort of landslide. But the main issue was the danger of mystery - not knowing where anybody was, and being unable to scout the area. She didn't want Niko and his gratuitous rage to come stumbling into her when she was in the middle of patching up.
She sought shelter by one of the pink-speckled trees. No matter how tough she thought she was, she needed to address the weakness in her leg and the wounds covering her skin. Cannons exploded in the distance, and her mind drifted to Itzal - how was that idiot faring? Was he out there kicking ass and taking names as he boasted? Or was he one of the unfortunate cannons?
Only time would tell.
