wants to be a superhero or own sharks or bothDad's been kind of grumpy lately.
Like, really gumpy. He knows that I like seeing the comic strip section of the paper we get. The corny little jokes get my smile nice and wide. And my smile is nice. Or the school photographer says so. Maybe she just says it to get me to. But yeah. I like the comic strips. Books, too, and the way that the colors look. I like that they look so old. It's like I'm touching a paper dinosaur or something. Dad normally lets me read them. He would let me read them out loud to him, too, because he knows that I like to tell the jokes on the page too. He normally does, though.
Normally.
But dad's mad lately. He likes to spend time staring at the newspaper, reading updates, and comments and stuff. I don't get why he's so angry about it though. He throws it away so it can't be any good right?
The boys at school ask if I knew Dorothy. I didn't. But I say I do because they think it's cool my dad's cousin is dead. And being cool is, like, cool. It's cooler than comics (if that's even a thing). I love the ones where they have a cape and can save the day. Sometimes I wish superheroes were real. But they can't be with how the world works, that's what dad says at least, but he says that he likes reading about them too at least. So that's reassuring. But I hope he doesn't ever tell the other kids about it because then it's not cool. It's like, dad and I's thing, comics.
But our thing also hasn't been happening lately so I can't say that it is anymore.
I miss doing our thing.
