Magi traced a hand along the lattice work roots.

Most of this world could likely kill him, but he’d let his curiosity get the better of him often.

He’d given in to such curiosity before – that he’d opened his heart to having an ally rather than to violence, that was one.

He could say that such things were strategy but, he’d no weapons and the best he would’ve been able to do was use his fists to kill her. And how brutal could he really be? They’d just been born out of the cornucopia. His fists were glass and his heart still beat for more than himself. A part of home, of who he was still coursed through him.

Magi ambled along the path, careful to trawl along the earth for anything that he could use. He’d left the bloodbath empty handed, and while the edges of the cornucopia had provided him bits and pieces, he still needed a real weapon.

“Do you see anything?” He offered, his voice low. There were footprints along the earth already. Other boys and girls had tread here. He twisted the bracelet along his wrist and turned his head.

Not a single cannon had fired, which meant more blood needed spilled. Whether that meant it would happen at night or the next morning would remain to be seen.
