Her breath hitched in her throat.

She tried to speak, but no words escaped her lips.

Bodies of dead muttations lie at their feet and black ichor seeps from Leo's wounds where crimson blood should be present. The helmet that lay atop her head was now cracked down the middle, laying lop sided, covering one of her eyes. Her hands reached up and toss the broken armor to the ground. Her breathing comes in gasps as she sets her hands on her knees.

"What," she gasps between breaths. "The fuck."

The ground is stained red and the bodies already add to the sent of decay. It seems time moves faster here, but somehow slower all at once.

"Why were there so many," she gently moves one with her foot. "Why were they so annoying? And where the hell did they come from?" A sound of disgust leaves her lips as she surveys the area. Another area with rot that smells like absolute shit. Surprise, surprise.

Was there anything to look forward to here?

"Come on, I think I see some water with only a little dirt over here."
