Butterflies are always so beautiful, the way the spread their colorful wings and take flight without a care in the world, but whatever these creatures are, despite being beautiful, are far more vicious. But that's natural - this is the hunger games after all.
Watching them attack, watching the swarm leave, Vallen realizes just how lucky he is. They easily could've killed him, yet he's made it out alive, and that's all he needs for now. Just one more breath, one more day in the arena, but it's not coming easy. Not having food everyday, and not having water everyday becomes even more unbearable, and now that he's moving away from the chaos, he needs a moment, a chance to catch his breath, and maybe a chance to make a friend.
