Minimal Writing Event: 95th Opening Ceremonies

Welcome Tributes, Spectators, and all in between!

As the start of the 95th Games approaches, we begin the festivities with the Opening Ceremony! Stylists will dress their tributes in an ensemble representing their respective districts for all of Panem to see. Be creative and draw influences from unimaginable places. Be expressive and proudly represent your district. But most importantly, designers, make it work.


OOC information:

Tributes will team up with their district partner and stylist/mentor (if applicable) to create a memorable first-look for the Capitol and the rest of Panem to see during the Tribute Parade. Entries may consist of mood boards and/or blitz posts. One person from a team can post as a representative of the rest of their team, so long as they state who helped with what, or the tributes can each post individually.

DISTRICT EIGHT

When there's a will, there's a way. And luckily for the District Eight tributes, the way is fashion. Despite having an aloof escort and lazy stylist, the networking of their new victor, Theo Horner, has proven him to be a skilled socialite. Some of the most intricate, vibrant embroidery Panem has ever seen is on display during the tribute parade. Swirls of florals, bursts of threads, organic shapes twisting and knotting themselves -- the outfits of Tavi Anemos and Machiavelli Hope are a true treat for the eyes.

Of course, the fashionable embroideriers in District Eight really paid no mind to the fact that actual humans would be wearing these outfits. The jean canvas base had been stretched and washed and pressed to within an inch of its life. The jean jackets and pants hung off the two tributes like curtains and, though it would be impolite to ask, we're sure they've got a bit of chaffing happening...

But oh, what a riot of color!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. In a desperate attempt to make the industry of Waste Management seem intimidating and glamorous, District Two has taken as their theme the shattered, the discarded, the ragged edges of the glass left behind by others more careless. The materials glimmer under the light, but the tributes themselves don't dare take a wrong move, lest they slice open their skin before even reaching the Arena. They stand tall and careful, as living representations of the strength it takes to thrive in this razor-sharp competition.

For the 95th Hunger Games, the tributes from District 5 are dressed, in many ways, as opposites of one another. Jackson wears all black, and is smeared with black body paint and severe makeup, representing the District's past of being limited to the oil field. Bentley wears neon colors, and is painted with bright, attention-grabbing makeup in order to represent the industry change. At the end of the day, both are forms of raw power and capable of domination within their own realm.

❝ bodysuits with a modernized, neon, high speed railway that moves through the tracks on the body like light. the  bodysuits have some 3D pieces so it looks like the "train" is actually moving around on your body. it's giving tron: legacy.

what's there to say about eleven that hasn't already been said?
they were nice enough to at least dress her in something flattering, though simple it may be.
everyone looks better, like days had been put into their entire displays.
for her - for eleven - it looks like nothing. like business as usual. a goddamn tractor.
