everett "ev" tolbert
The room smells like garlic, but in a good way.
On the table sits several containers of food. It's just another gathering, another district. Everett has been traveling the districts in order to get a story. And this right here, as the players begin to unpack their bags of dice and lay out their sheets of paper, is a story written live. Every story is, really. That's what brings him to the districts. From the eyes of the Capitol, the Games are a masterpiece in storytelling. Every year is different, making it much more exciting for them to tune in. Ev was never a huge fan of the Games, but he doesn't care enough to make it change. He lives complacent with it - the Games never affected him but he's always wished there was more out there to watch live.
Bards and Blunders, as he soon learned, was all that he needed. It's all that the districts needed. A live story told through a small team of adventurers sitting around the table - it offers an escape, a home for their thoughts that don't get interrupted by booming cannons. It gives them something new to experience, which is all the fun for both the players and their characters. Everett liked it because it gave him a reason to tell stories. He loves to craft and twist them together like a wicker basket - holding so many unique experiences in it. The basket can hold so many important memoirs for people. Emotions, things, items, places. He's always been a fan of what he can create, and who with.
Everett tries as best as he can to meander the districts. It's important, to him, that everyone gets to experience it. Through these characters and fantasial places, the people he meets gets to experience something otherworldly. He likes that. He likes the spontaneity of it; people have to think on their feet, because they want their character to live obviously. Just like they were to be in the Games.
Typically, he just throws up a random flyer in the town square to meet at a certain place. Or he stands at the town square recruiting a smaller group of six. He gives them a time, a place, and an open-armed invitation to bring whatever food or goodies they'd like. Why not snack while you adventure? It's his way of being able to digest and understand local culture, or cuisine. He can transfer those foods to other districts as he crafts tales.
