I thought of Vallen and his robots, all the times he had competed. Here I was in a giant creation racing, the presence of my brother beside me. Competing with me, or at least I would like to think so. I felt he would have loved to make a cart of his own, create something that drove with speed. A part of me racing to feel closer to him for just another moment.
I gripped the steering wheel tightly as my foot hit the gas pedal with a force I was not expecting.
Speed was something I was accustomed to; the way my thoughts were constantly racing at a pace I could never keep up with. My eyes glued to the road ahead of me, the nerves I had felt as the countdown ticked was all of a sudden gone. Instead, the adrenaline rushed into my head, craving more speed with each passing second.
Before today I had never set foot in a go-cart, in my mind it could have not been all that hard. Turn around a wheel a bit and stay between the lines. I should have known that I was never one that could stick to the rules, my cart occasionally crossing the white lines of the track. Who cared, I was having a blast. Laughing with a gigantic smile on my face racing against the clock. Turning laps and leaving others behind in the dust.
