Name: Shea Ripper
Age: 14
Gender: Male
District: 8
Appearance: Standing at 5'3, 110 pounds, Shea dwarves in comparison to other boys his age. His pale skin and emerald green eyes, give him a slight 'porcelain doll' look. Shea has short blonde hair that he styles neatly, when he gets the chance. Due to his mother's profession as a seamstress, Shea's clothes are usually free from holes, and fit his body near perfectly. Shea will often make adjustments to his clothes, in an attempt to make a fashion statement. These statements are usually fixed by his mother before he can even leave the house. However, on the rare occasion he can slip by her, Shea can be found trying, and usually failing, to send fashion trends around the district.
Personality: Shea's known to the other children as "one of the quieter boys." He prefers to keep to himself, drawing in his sketchbook rather than socializing with the other children. Sometimes Shea feels as though he can't connect with the children of District 8, that he dreams of a grander life than them. Because of this, Shea can come across a bit snooty to others, even if that isn't his intent. Shea is often bored and uninterested in the things around him, it's hard to gather his attention.
History: Born to a seamstress, Shea's father died before he was born, or at least that's what his mother told him. The two have quite the close relationship. Sometimes, Shea thinks, a bit too close. His mother, Bobbi, fusses over Shea to an amount he sometimes deems annoying. Due to his small size and lack of friends, she worries about how her son gets along with the other kids his age.
Shea could care less about the others. Shea has one dream, and one dream alone. One day he wants to work in The Capitol as a stylist. He still remembers the reaping ceremony where the District 8 escort wore the most vibrant color of green he'd ever seen. Greener than any leaf in all of District 8 is how Shea remembers it. He spent days wearing out his old colored pencils, desperately trying to replicate that vividness, to no avail .
From there, Shea's love of fashion was born. Due to his limited resources, he's not able to craft up couture fit for the Capitol just yet, but Shea makes due, making adjustments to his clothes here and there, in order to make them more fashion forward.
Shea has a few friends from school, but tends to favor his alone time, it allows him to think of more designs. Speaking of, Shea is on thin ice in class, having been reprimanded for doodling in his books instead of reading them. This always leads to snickers from the others in class.
As far as the Hunger Games go, Shea secretly looks forward to it every year. The violence he could do without, but watching the tributes dressed to the nines for the parade is like his own personal slice of heaven. Every year he's more and more impressed by the craftsmanship that goes into the costumes. And every single year, when he gets home from the reaping, he promises himself that one day he will dress the next victor of District 8.
Shea has never considered the possibility of getting reaped. Despite him entering his 3rd year of eligibility, he manages to remain cool during the ceremonies, understanding his chances of being picked are close to zero. Deep down, Shea believes that The Capitol will eventually take notice of his genius, even if he was reaped he'd be spared once they saw how valuable his skills were. Of course, Shea is naive in this sense.
