NOTICE: SCAVENGING IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF DAY 6, SEE THE RE HERE: LINK
Scavenging for the 96th will be available for tributes, but different than its previous introduction! Rather than making items received via scavenging the only items available in the arena, tributes will still have access to items outside of scavenging, which will make scavenging entirely optional but potentially beneficial for those who take the time to write the extra posts. As well, secondary locations must be unlocked within an area in order to gain access by completing the area's corresponding generator.
To participate, tributes must post in the respected area once the generator has been restored with a non-fleeing, non-attacking post, rolling a roll range 1-7 dice at the very bottom. The resulting roll will correspond to a number on the lists found below (which will be filled once generators have been prepared,) and will be the item the tribute finds. An area may only be searched once or twice per day, depending on the area, but tributes may search the allotted amount of times at any one area for as many days as they would like.
When darkness falls onto the arena, a red light beams from the tower that can be seen for miles. A hundred feet above the snowy earth, the only way a tribute can scale the tower is by taking the rickety wooden ladder to the lookout cab at its peak. It is a long way up, any tribute with a fear of heights dare not look down. Once at the peak, tributes will have a perfect three-hundred and sixty degree view of the arena but is not just the pleasant landscapes that will get them excited up here. Inside the cab, there are chests and drawers filled with the treasures of the previous lookouts that resided here. There is even a bed, chairs and personal wares. But what happened to them? A bell is hung up above the door of the cab, only to be rung when there is imminent danger. It is much colder up here in the clouds. Blistering freezing air will make it too uncomfortable to stay out on the wooden balcony of the tower. |
STATUS: | The Generator for the Tower is Permanently OFF meaning tributes may not have access to this area for scavenging. To interact with this generator, a tribute must roll successfully in the WINTRY FOREST using the mechanic linked HERE. |
ITEM LIST: | - 1. A Pair of Walkie Talkies (communication) |
The gaze that has been following you throughout the arena feels very intense here. Where the Hunter’s Lodge at least seemed to be stable for the most part, the cabin that waits for you deep in the Witch’s Wood shows obvious signs of disrepair. Whatever fire or curse ravaged the forest also reached this building, turning lots of the wood foundation black and charred, leaving the front door hanging open on its hinges and the windows all smashed out. It seems inviting in the worst way. An eerie chill blows through the interior, a burnt rocking chair creaking back and forth. Do you hear laughter somewhere in the distance? Are the eyes of the porcelain dolls lining a shelf on the back wall following you? Everything in this space is dead, and gone, but somehow there is life in the shadows. A spider spins silk in a dark corner of the ceiling, the echo of footsteps comes from deeper in the cabin, a looming presence seems to be watching over your shoulder at all times. Perhaps your fear can be mistaken as a trick of the mind, but once you find the distinctly human skeleton in the attic, you cannot be shamed for any dread you might feel. |

This seems to be the place where those creatures bring their leftovers. You can hear some of them ripping each other apart over the scraps: fragments left from once-whole living things. You wade through pools of something too thick and dark to be water, have to climb your way over piles of what you know must be bone and fur and flesh. Upon restoring power, a ring of street lamps flicker to life in this area, notably killing the darkness that encircles it just as quickly as it can pour in. Any of the volkra who were here when the lights came on writhed in pain before flying away, if they were able to at all before they burned up. Now, so long as the lights stay on, none of them can get into the circle. But you decide for yourself: are you safe from them here, or trapped and surrounded, a glowing beacon they eagerly await the opportunity to snuff out? |
STATUS: | The Generator for the Bone Pit is Permanently OFF meaning tributes may not have access to this area for scavenging until it is repaired. To interact with this generator, a tribute must roll successfully in the FOLD using the mechanic linked HERE. |
ITEM LIST: | - 1. Snapped Femur (Sword) |
You stand in a large cavernous room, deep below ground. This looks as if it was once some sort of hub for the people who once worked these tunnels, with rows of lockers along one wall and a cupboard full of rotten foods on another. You could turn back, take the same path that brought you to this point if you can trust yourself to remember the turns you took along the way. But there, roughly twenty feet above head, at the top of a very sudden and steep cliff, you can see daylight. There’s an old lift there, protected by metal grating, a control panel with dull buttons and dials worn with time. Pressing them does nothing until power is restored by completing the generator located in the mines. Upon its restoration, the buttons begin to light up, and tributes may use the lift to carry them up to the exit and out a different way. |
STATUS: | The Generator for the Mines Exit is Permanently OFF meaning tributes may not have access to this area for scavenging. To interact with this generator, a tribute must roll successfully in the MINES using the mechanic linked HERE. |
ITEM LIST: | - 1. Coal (can be used with matches or firemaking to start 1 fire) |
