”It has been fucking rough, hasn’t it?” I ask Teddy as I indulge in the comfort of the couch in the victor mansion. I already know the answer, it has been answered every year when two coffins have been delivered via the train station. It is something I have no control over, even the career Districts are starting to lose their way so there’s absolutely no way Six is going to crack this. Not with the misfits it has representing it.

”Sorry about the demanding letter. You should see all the data, we’re the eleventh worst performing District! Everyone is happily educated though so I guess that is a bonus. Big brains are getting cracked by a mental health crisis that I have no control over, but I won’t ask you to help me with that. I have got Quest on that case.” I pick at a bowl of peanuts on the coffee table between the couches that Teddy and I are sitting at.

My Victor Liaison and brother, he is probably the one person in my council that I dump most of the pressure on, besides Quest. He’ll get the job done though; I can trust Teddy. I trust him with taking care of my daughter most days.

”I don’t know what I can do with our games performance but we can’t repeat the past five years. The morale is so low and dead tributes are something I have no control over. Do you think an underground training academy is too risky? There will be some mad kids out there willing to volunteer that actually have a chance.” Like I did but I won’t bring that up.
